Thanksgiving....Zoom meetings? What will you do this Thanksgiving? In the past I can remember the times that we had huge southern cooking dinners on Thanksgiving Day. We would rotate the cooking duties between myself, my mother and my grandmother, I had Thanksgiving my grandmother had Christmas and my mother had New . I remember cooking a lot of food and my relatives would come from near and far celebrate the holiday. I would be tired from all of the cooking and cleaning. When it was over I would be so happy have seen my relatives. This Thanksgiving is going be different because of the plague and the fact that my Grandmother and my mother have passed away. I have adjusted their deaths but this virus is something new . I am on lockdown and I leave my home only go the grocery store . Well my called and said she is going arrange a Zoom Meeting for all of the family on Thanksgiving day from her house .It's a new idea and I like it as I will not have do a lot of cooking. I will be in my home and will only be cooking for myself. How will you celebrate Thanksgiving this year? Creative Ideas. |

Ruby Tuesday's will be hosting our lunner (lunch/dinner, sometime after 2 or 3, whenever we get there). I am cooking, means, I am paying so I don't have to cook.  They host our Thanksgiving meal every year. We come home and have a dessert.

Just myself and my son as we are still in lockdown, so no change to our normal everyday lives.

Nice to see you, Brightsmile! It is a nice custom to get together as a family to give thanks to God for all the blessings received during the year.  It is a pity that this festival is not celebrated in our country.  Personally, I thank God on the last day of the year, making a count of all the blessings I have received. If the roofer comes tomorrow, I'll celebrate Thanksgiving with my inherited family and some days after. If he comes on Friday, I'll celebrate with fruit and salad and apple pie and feel good that I did not "gain" a pound or two.
