Something that needs to be said.

To my white non racist friends. I love y'all. Don't get it twisted. Me loving and protecting my race ,does not mean I hate or fault you.

We know who our enemies are ,they're no longer hiding it.

Thank you for standing with us in these trying times.

These definitely are trying times, and it seems so many loud voices are trying to divide and put people into boxes that they want to define.
I do not believe that the vast majority of people go along with that, but we don't have the mega platforms that those others do.
I am tired of being called names because I am white and some white person made crude comments or horrible acts against someone of another color...... just as I'm sure you are tired of being called names because someone black did something horrible.
Our society seems to be declining right before our eyes..... IF we listen to the TV or radio. It's a whole different story if we just get out and about and see the folks in our areas.

You are right..... my cardiologist, whom Joe and I love and admire, is the most beautiful shade of dark black. Oh, and another thing, people with black skin don't show their age like people with white skin do.
One of the other students (who was black) in nurse's training and I were often paired together. I was 18 and I assumed she was just a couple years older than me.
One day, we were talking and I said something about us being about the same age. She laughed and told me that she had children my age. Years later, we worked together at the hospital, and I looked older than her!
It's the same way with other friends I have who have black or brown skin.... like Brightsmiles.... darn, I hate them! rofl.

Hello Sewg......Thank you for sharing this. I never thought that a white person would be envious of black folk for their skin color. That is because I like a lot of black folk were always told that there was nothing about our color that was nice and we believed it back in the day. I always wanted to have hair like your folk had and I had very long and thick hair and I hated getting it straightened. I would cry when my grandmother took me to the hairdresser because it hurt when the hairdresser would try to untangle and straighten it. Then when I was grown and working they invented this hair straightener that a lot of black women used. So I figured I must get mine done also.......I did and that stuff burned my scalp but I wanted to look good so I got my hair "permed" until I retired. When I retired I finally learned that I was beautiful with my skin tone and nappy hair and that I should be proud of it which I am now. I feel good in my skin now so I wear my hair natural now.

Hello Mrsjoe....I agree there are forces that are trying to divide this country in order to conquer it. I can understand how you feel completely about people giving you a hard time because of a crime that some other person that has the same skin color as you committed. That has been happening to my people forever. When some person does something evil and stupid.......Most black folk will say "I sure hope he or she is not black" because we have been blamed as a race when 1 black person commits a crime for as long as I can remember .I think that the country will be made better with leaders who will try to bring us together and not to divide us for their their own personal gain.

Hello Rocket my friend I am so glad that you do..... some folk are not so sure and tend to think of me as a race baiter here. So I thought that this was the right time to say this....I found it on Fbook and it was exactly what I felt in my heart.

Hello Jiminy...........Thank you so much.. That is the best way that I have seen anyone explain color when talking about Black and White folk in the USA. Its a Matter of good and evil and it knows no color. WE all have our share of folk like that in this country.

I get it......I wasn't going to comment.....I couldn't think of anything to say, but then I came back and saw Hank(cajunjoe)'s blog and it made me so sad and angry.......I know people learn it as children.......that's the excuse or explanation....I have never personally ever seen or heard that level of mindless prejudice expressed........I can't imagine the agony it causes you or the emotional labour it must take to build the layers of protection Black people in the US need in order to protect themselves and their families from the onslaught........I don't have the words, but know that I respect and feel for you.......

Hello Sparkleflit.......I am so glad that you did make a comment because it is good to know that there are good people in the world who will speak out when they see evil things done to people of color. That person that you speak of just wants a response from me and I refuse to go that low. You are right it does take many layers of emotional policing to mind and body in order for the average Black person to deal with the Racism and hate and ignorance in the USA each day. It is awfully good to see you and others here speak out against it.

Abelle let me tell you my doll story. I was small and living with my grandmother and grandfather in Gordon. I used to read the "funny papers" and I liked Dick Tracy, Well on Dick Tracy they had Sparkle Plenty and they started selling the Sparkle Plenty doll.......she had long blond hair really fair skin and blue eyes. I thought she was the most beautiful doll in the world. My grandfather gave my grandmother the money to go to Macon to buy that doll for me. She did not and I did not understand that until I was in High School. During that time they did not sell any black dolls where we were.

So did I ! It was a baby doll and my grandpa made me a wooden cradle for it.

I remember giving my granddaughter a black doll for her birthday, by mistake, but she loved it and never noticed the colour of the doll. Her other grandmother wondered if I was trying to teach her about racism!!
I was first made aware of raciist behaviour when I went to Michigan long time ago. I was with my husband. A black man sat beside me on the bus and we had a short conversation until the driver threw him off the bus. I couldnt : believe it
