8 x 10 Stretched Canvas Pain Dips
2 more paint dips. Fluid, abstract art. I am not an expert at it yet, but it is fun to see how these turn out

Lovely blend of colors...… and various shapes can be seen in the blending. So how is it done?

Thanks Mrsjoe! All paints have to have a pouring medium added to them to make them flow. Basically, you put a base coat of white or black down on plastic, or what ever you want to put it on, enough to cover the size of whatever you going to dip, tape that surface down, then add colored paint in whatever design you choose, then turn the canvas so that you are dipping the top in the paint. I smooth it down a bit, with a light touch of my fingers, to make sure all paint is getting on the canvas, then you slowly lift the canvas straight up, and turn it over, and then see what design you got, and hope for one you like . I am sure I didn't explain it well, but, there are many video tutorials available on youtube...search acrylic paint dip. |

Thank you, misskitty…… I pictured something like a big bucket with the paints floating on the surface and couldn't imagine how it would work.
I love the way the colors blend and with imagination, I can see all kinds of shapes, like flowers, trees, etc.

This is a form of art. Not all people find it pleasing to the eye, and that is ok. I do not claim to be an artist. I do this because I happen to enjoy it, and often find the results pleasing! It is as simple as that!! It is ok if you do not care for it, but there are people who enjoy looking at what I create, and that is why I post it...nothing more, nothing less. If you do not enjoy it, that is fine. I would suggest moving along to something you do enjoy Have a wonderful rest of your day! |

I'm really sorry that you got so defensive.....I just wondered what your philosophy of art was.....I didn't say that I don't like it......touchy touchy...It seems like this site has a lot of people who are allergic to discussing anything but politics....so boring.

An authentic artist would not flip out when asked the question I asked.....An authentic artist that called this "abstract art" would have already thought about it enough to be able to answer my question...Apparently in your circles the word "Art" has a different meaning than in mine.......and people get flipped out and aggressive when they get asked do define a word...

My whole point is that this isn't creative....You assume I don't like abstract art.....on the contrary.....If this is art, everything is art....If everything is art, there is no art......
