*~*~*~*Highlights in December*~*~*~*

Today is the 2nd Advent and Nicholas Day. It is a tradition in Germany that the put a pair of (CLEAN) shoes in front of the door on the evening of December 5. In the morning the 6th they find treats and small presents in their shoes. It can happen that mum and dad find a sweet surprise in their shoe, too. LOL

I wish you joyful, festive days this Christmas season!

It did, and the other two are gone. Traditions can be fun and meaningful for those who celebrate them. May you have a wonderful Christmas season too.

MrsJoe, this Nicholas Day tradition gives the month of December a touch of joy, and I am glad that my family and most people in Germany still cherish Nicholas.

Maudi, in these troubled times those traditions are part of our identy and history. When I was married, I put some small things in the shoe of my American husband, and he loved it. LOL
