The phone has replaced so many things in our lives, but we must never let it replace the people. I hate when family comes to visit and I have to speak to a grand child two or three time to even get their attention away from their phone..... and then their eyes never leave the screen even while talking to me. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Funny thing is about that picture is that they are probably texting each other instead of talking face to face. The art of conversation has gone to the wayside. My phone stays on my desk in my office, I'm not attached to it.

I do have a cell phone and wouldn't be without it. But I don't spend my whole waking hours on it. The younger generation of my family all have cells and spend a great deal of time on them. I have a couple of friends who don't own a cell and have no plans to get one. For me being on my own and when I am out and about I think it is a necessary item and in particular at our age.

I have a cell phone and is a necessity to have one for me to get in touch with my family in Italy. We have a different hour and I don't know when they will call me. I always have my phone on my bag. For others sed them always. It's just a bad habits using telephone when you are on the table to eat, when talking with others and on the bed ready to sleep. We have an agreement with hubby that nobody will used telephone on the table. It works. "The only way to have a friend is to be one."

My phone is supposed to be smart, but I keep it dumb. LOL I use it for calls only, and my contract includes international unlimited calls on a fixed rate. When I do my shopping, etc., I rarely have it with me - have a prepaid flip phone in my car in case of emergency. Happiness is when what you think, what you say, what you do are in harmony - M. I find it irresponsible and sad that little kids grow up with this kind of drug. That way their natural human nature is prepared for artificial intelligence...... They don't know better. I remember when we only had a land line and my first husband could not stand to just let it ring and not answer it. He would almost break his neck to get to it. I just figured if it were important, the person would call back later. It's the same way with my cell phone, I don't always answer it. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

What I find really annoying are those that walk and text, head down not looking where they are going. I don't know how many times I have had to jump out of way to avoid being banged into. Mobile phones are great, but there is a time and a place for everything.
