*~*~* Peonies *~*!*

This time of year the peonies are in full bloom. Christians are celebrating Pentecost today.
The German word for Pentecost is Pfingsten, and we call the flowers you see on the pictures
"Pfingstrosen". They are beautiful!

Last year, my little great-grandson was in Italy with his parents, and they visited a small church along the way.

It's raining here, had rain yesterday, and it will rain tomorrow. My family is enjoying a long weekend at my home in Germany. They have sunshine, and the little ones are playing in the water in the garden. Wish I could be there......

Great set of pictures! I enjoyed them all, especially the flowers.

We had them in our yard. Mine were white. They made a beautiful centerpiece for the table

I love peonies. They are one of my favorite flowers at this time of the year. They are blooming later this year as we had such a cold spring. The one thing I don't like about peonies is they always bugs in the flowers.

I love them, too and want to find a bush for my garden. As I posted this blog on Pentecost, I thought of the photo of our little boy that was taken a year ago on this Christian festive day in the chapel in Italy.

SEVERAL YEARS AGO I WENT ON A NATURE HIKE TO THE MOUNTAINS TO SEE THE HUGE FIELDS OF PEONIES. IT WAS A GREAT DAY, THE FLOWERS WERE BEAUTIFUL AS WAS THE SURROUNDING AREA.
I SEE THE GERMAN WEATHER REPORTS EVERY DAY AND THERE WAS A LOT OF RAIN BUT NOW THE SITUATION IS IMPROVING. WISH YOU COULD COME ON OVER.

Yes, the weather has been beautiful in Germany, lately. Contrary to what we have here. Rain 3 days in a row and clouds today. I am thinking of a flight in August or September, hoping that there are regular flights without changing plains along the way. I am watching the situation in Europe daily. Have you heard from simplelady/Betty?
