GIVING TO CHARITIES

BEING THE SKEPTIC I AM. I HAVE BEEN VERY SELECTIVE IN WHO I GIVE TO.

I HAVE ALWAYS GIVEN TO SALVATION ARMY.

AFTER THE FIRE IN PARIS I GAVE TO THE CHURCH HERE IN USA.. IN DC THAT WAS COLLECTING.

I ALSO HAVE AT TIMES GIVEING TO BILLY GRAHAMS MINISTRY.

RARE LY DO IGIVE TO SAMARATINS PURSE.

MAINLY DUE TO THE SALARY FRANKLING GRAHAM RECEIVES.

MY REASON IN WRING THIS IS TO ASK OTHERS.

ARE U SWAMPED WITH REQUESTS WITH MAIL ASKING FOR MONEY FROM ORGA
NIZATIONS .

I HAD TO CALL SALVATION ARMY ASN ASK THEM NOT TO SEND ME ANY MORE MAIL.

ALSO SEEN THE CHURCH IN DC HAS SOLD MY ADDRESS . I HAVE STARTED GETTING MEGA LETER ASKING FOR MONEY
SAME WITH SMARATIN PUSE.

WHILE I SUPPORT THESE ORGANIZATIONS. SEEM THEY SHOULD CENTER THEIR APPALLS TO ONES NOT GIVING.

I AVERAGE GETTING 5 LETTER DAILY FROM SOME ONE.

AS I TOLD THE FOLKS AT SALVATION ARMY. SEEMS THEIR MONE Y COULD BE BETTER SPENT. ALSO IF I GAVE TO EACH I GET MAIL. I WOUDL NEED A LOAN TO LIVE.

AM I WRONG???

ANY COMMNETS WITH ME WELCOME./

OH YES. YOU KNOW M Y REP BY NOW. IF U ASNER STAY ON TOPIC AND BE NICE. OTHER WISE U WILL JOING THE GROWING LIST I HAVE BANNED

Our mailbox has pleas from charities almost every day. Some of them even contain a $2.50 check in them that asks that it be returned with an additional amount. I figure not cashing their check is a donation, but I wonder if I did just cash it if they would take us off their mailing list?
This year, we evaluated the charities that we had been giving to, and changed some things. We picked some and decided to focus mostly on the local food pantries and a church "Blessings" ministry that turned their parsonage into a clothing and housewares shop where everything is free. There is a basket at the door for those who can give a donation, but when we went to look it over, I noticed that very few did.
There is another one called "Shepherd's Closet" that has a food pantry with free food and the clothing and houseware section has very low prices.
Charity begins at home, so we want to help those in our own area.

    Quoting  :

I started answering numbers that I don't recognize in a soft, quiet voice and if it's one of those calls, I pretend to be a senile old lady who thinks the caller is her grandson or grand daughter. By the time they try to explain to me that they are not my family, I start crying and ask them why are they calling me on this number because it's only for my family to call me. Or I start crying and telling them that my grand never calls me anymore. They usually hang up and I've noticed I am getting fewer of those live calls.
