MY WISH AND MY PLEA

"How sad, a heart that does not know what love is, that does not feel the greatness of love. If it doesn't have true love, how can it enjoy the blinding light of the sun, the beautiful colors of the rainbow and the soft light of the moon?"

LEAF CUTTING

DELICATE LEAF CUTTING BY OMID ASADI.

I have received this stunning email from a friend of mine, so I would like to share it with all my readers.

My name is Omid Asadi and I currently live in Manchester, United Kingdom. I created this work with carving and cutting techniques on actual fallen leaves using a craft knife and a needle. I always try to create pieces with a message, not just beautiful art. Some of these messages or ideas come from my world view, poems, stories, global problems and philosophy. I’m also inspired by other artists’ and designers’ works. My LEAF'S WORK.

I’m very attentive to beautiful fallen leaves. Suddenly, I started SEEING them, not simply looking at them. I believe that we look at many things everyday, but don’t SEE them. For example, apples had been falling from trees for thousands of years, But only Isaac Newton truly saw that and, thanks to him,
Our lives have changed forever.

Once I visited a paper cutting exhibition at Manchester Art Gallery;
That was when I noticed the leaves as well.
I mostly use maple leaves because, in the area I live, I can find them easily. I use a craft knife or scalpel and needle. It is not like a paper cutting because each part needs a certain pressure to cut. If I make a mistake, I destroy maybe hundreds of hours of work.
For me these leaves represent our life, which is too short. I’m trying to give them another life.

I remember when I was a little , I used to draw on the back of rose petals and leaves with a needle. I created this work to support the Persian Cheetah, which is a species that is at risk of becoming extinct. I have received loads of positive feedback from the public and media, and I am glad people like my works and enjoy them. This shows how we can create beauty, love and
make this world better for all of human kind and other creatures instead of suffering from wars, conflicts, diseases, hunger, hatred, etc.

I hope you'll like this incredible work of one who has made something just out of nothing really of value. Just things which everyone would pile up and burn. Thanks for reading it.
Wish to have your views on it. Thanks,
Lisa.

Arthritis is a form of joint disorder which involves inflammation of one or more joints.
Arthritis makes it very difficult for individuals to be physically active and some become home bound and difficult to remain physically active.
There are over 100 different forms of arthritis. The most common form, Osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease), is a result of trauma to the joint, infection of the joint, or age. Other arthritis forms are Rheumatoid arthritis, Psoriatic arthritis, related Autoimmune diseases. Septic arthritis is caused by joint infection and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.

The major complaint by individuals who have arthritis is joint pain. Pain is often a constant and may be localized to the joint affected. The pain from arthritis is due to inflammation that occurs around the joint, damage to the joint from disease, daily wear and tear of joint, muscle strains caused by forceful movements against stiff painful joints and fatigue.
Osteoarthritis as one of the types of arthritis can also be classified as nodal (with hand involvement) or non-nodal (without hand involvement).

Fast facts on arthritis, Here are some key points.
Arthritis affects the joints and musculoskeletal system.
Most types of arthritis are caused by a combination of factors. These can include genetic makeup, a physically demanding job, previous injury, infection or allergies, certain foods, obesity and auto-immune disease.

Physical therapy and occupational therapy can help maintain joint mobility and range of motion.
Physical therapy has been shown to delay the need for surgical intervention in advanced cases 8.
Occupational therapy can teach you how to reduce the strain on your joints.
Doctors warn that inactivity could harm the health of most patients with arthritis or some kind of rheumatic disease.

TYPES OF ARTHRITIS
There are over 100 types of arthritis. Here is a description of some common ones, together with the causes:

Osteoarthritis
With osteoarthritis, the cartilage loses its elasticity. If the cartilage is stiff it becomes damaged more easily. The cartilage, which acts as a shock absorber, will gradually wear away in some areas. As the cartilage becomes damaged tendons and ligaments become stretched, causing pain. Eventually the bones may rub against each other causing very severe pain.

Rheumatoid arthritis
This is an inflammatory form of arthritis. The synovial membrane (synovium) is attacked, resulting in swelling and pain. If left untreated the arthritis can lead to deformity.

Rheumatoid arthritis is significantly more common in women than men and generally strikes when the patient is aged between 40 and 60. However, and much older people may also be affected.

During the first ten years after diagnosis, patients with rheumatoid arthritis have a higher risk of blood clots.

Infectious arthritis (septic arthritic)
Infectious arthritis is an infection in the synovial fluid and tissues of a joint. It is usually caused by bacteria, but could also be caused by fungi or viruses.

Bacteria, fungi or viruses may spread through the bloodstream from infected tissue nearby, and infect a joint.

Most susceptible people are those who already have some form of arthritis and develop an infection that travels in the bloodstream.

Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA)
Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis is a type of arthritis that affects a person aged 16 or less. JRA can be various forms of arthritis; it basically means that a has it.

Pauciarticular JRA, the most common and mildest. The experiences pain in up to 4 joints.
Polyarticular JRA affects more joints and is more severe. As time goes by it tends to get worse.
Systemic JRA is the least common. Pain is experienced in many joints. It can spread to organs. This can be the most serious JRA.

WHAT TO DO:

-- Check with your rheumatologist first
-- Ask your physical therapist for advice
-- Set realistic goals, both short- and long-term ones. Include
rewards for each achievement
-- Plan ahead, so that you can identify pitfalls, obstacles or
problems for your exercise program, and how to overcome them.
-- For variety, create a range of physical activities and do them in
different locations
-- Try starting off with friends or family members
-- Keep a log of what you do so that you are aware of your progress.

I HOPE MY INFO HERE HAS PLEASED YOU, HOPE READING YOUR VIEWS AND EXPERIENCE IN IT.
Thank you.

A single parent is someone not living with a spouse or a partner and who is raising a or more under his/her daily responsibilities.
A single parent is the primary caregiver and live together with the /s most of the time.

There are many reasons which cause one to be a single parent. Either by divorce, mutual separation, death of either parent, incarceration of one of them, non custodial parent, unwanted pregnancy, non planned pregnancy, pregnancy outside a wedlock, by adoption and due to sexual orientation.

Single parent adoption is sometimes an option for adults who want but do not have a partner, do not wish to have any, who can't bear pregnancy or is barren, another option could be to foster a due to loneliness and to share love too. Single parenting has become an accepted norm and is a tendency found in multiple other countries. Single parenting really involves a great deal of responsibilities for the person.
I hope my blog has pleased you and wish to read your views on the topic.

LGBT and ADOPTION

This time, I've posted my blog on, " LGBT and ADOPTION".

LGBT adoption is the adoption of by the same-sex couples, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT), who are just of course, human beings as we are and their preferences are their personal choices and reasons too. I don't interfere in their way of living, this is their right.

Gay Marriages are being legalized in many countries and some allow the LGBT couples to adopt to form a family. Many think that Same sex marriage should be legalized not only for the decrease in foster , but to finally take a stand.

Everyday, teens of different sexuality other than "straight" are harassed, bullied, and tormented every single day in school, on the roads and everywhere. By legalizing same sex marriage, upcoming generations will be raised surrounded by marriages of man and woman, man and man, and woman with woman. Some of their friends parents could be gay, their teacher, family members, or friends. The legalization would make being a member of the LGBT not as "weird" or "gross" but more common and normal, just as a man and woman. This would also drop the bullying rates against , teens and adults who are of different sexuality.

OBJECTION TO AND SUPPORT FOR THE LGBT ADOPTION
Adoption of by LGBT people is an issue of active debate. In many countries for example, legislation to stop the practice has been introduced in many jurisdictions; such efforts have largely been defeated. There is agreement between the debating parties, however, that the welfare of alone should dictate policy.

Supporters of LGBT adoption suggest that many are in need of homes and claim that since parenting ability is unrelated to sexual orientation, the law should allow them to adopt .

Opponents, on the other hand, suggest that the alleged greater prevalence of depression, drug use, promiscuity and suicide among homosexuals (and alleged greater prevalence of domestic violence) might affect or that the absence of male and female role models during a 's development could cause maladjustment.

But Charlotte J. Patterson, PhD, a psychology professor and researcher said that New research shows that adopted into LGBT families are as well-adjusted as adopted by heterosexual parents and follow similar patterns of gender development.

The researchers found that the of LGBT persons, were virtually indistinguishable from of heterosexual parents. She points out that while numerous studies have documented patterns of healthy development among born from these parents.

The research indicates that policies that forbid LGBT couples from adopting, need to be re-examined, hence to give chance to them and to thousands foster as well.

What are your personal views in this issue?.
Your participation would be very much appreciated.
I thank you in anticipation

BILL COSBY INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY

My today's blog is one where I would like to have your opinions on this particular Topic, "THE BILL COSBY'S CASE".

Though I don't know William Henry Cosby Jr. ( Bill Cosby) personally but we have watched nearly all of his TV series, mainly The Cosby Show and I won't deny that we had appreciated it very much.
We really waited excitedly for the time of that show on TV because it was eventually a time of laughter, of relaxation with the family, the time where we forgot our daily trend and tiredness of the day, such a humorous time really.
Bill Crosby 77 yrs old presently, a well educated man, a very talented comedian, actor, author, television producer, educator, musician and activist, is being accused of sexual assaults and so on nowadays.
Whether he is really guilty or not, am not here to judge him neither to exonerate him on all these accusations.. But what spin in my mind :

1- Why such accusations weren't reported on time
when/or if really happened?
2- Why now after couple of decades?.
3- Why at that time none of them went to any
Hospital to have an evident proof and go to
to Police to report the case?.
4- Where is the real proof of each accusation?
5- Why is the media dragging this man so down without a shred of
legitimate and verifiable evidence, or even him being charged.
all these at a sudden?. This trial by media is outrageous
6- Can $$$ really wash away, clean up and whiten up the dignity of
everyone involved?.
If there is such tangible proofs then the man is liable to pay dearly for his act but what about if it's otherwise?.

After all, is there anyone so clean or cleaner than this man?. If really there is any, may he throw the first stone at him!!. Everyone knows or is aware of such similar cases which have happened before, many have been settled secretly, may be by agreement or by court rule. Whether they were from highly known personalities or just simple human beings but similar facts are still facts, regardless race, color or religion.
I hope we can all share our opinions on it and I shall be very glad reading yours too.
Thank you so much in anticipation.
Lisa.

THE AMAZING AND PITIFUL HISTORY OF TIBET

TIBET emerged in the 7th century as a unified empire but it was soon divided into a variety of territories.
Tibet, an Autonomous country, began about 4,000 years ago, when living was simpler life. The dominant religion in Tibet is Tibetan Buddhism. Lhasa its capital, it is also the political, economic, cultural and religious center with abundant cultural relics, like the world's highest palace complex, the Potala Palace built over 1,300 years ago. Five mountains exceed the altitudes of 8,000 meters (26,240 feet) and most rise to 7,000 meters (22,960 feet).

Tibet is called, The Roof Of The World and the 'Third Pole of the Earth'., it is the Highest Region On Earth, with an average elevation of 4,900 meters. Located in a plateau north of the Himalayas, It is a mysterious, exotic place for many outsiders. Tibetan homes, nomads, ancient monasteries, magnificent scenery, carpets of wild flowers, panda and of course, it is always an adventure up on the roof of the world. Trekking in Himalayas and rising nearly 5 km above sea level, Tibet is a land unlike any other country with a magical realm of vast open spaces. The Land of Snows, Tibet a mysterious Buddhist Kingdom, a region beyond the Himalayas, is famous for having the highest plateau in the world.

In Central Tibet, between March 1959 and October 1960, 87,000 Tibetans were killed by Chinese forces tightening their grip on the country. Tibetans are becoming minority in their own country, making the desire to save and preserve their culture even stronger. Their leader, The Dalai Lama, was forced to flee into exile. China’s repressive policies have aimed at Tibetan cultural genocide. Since 2009, 121 Tibetans have self-immolated to call for the return of the Dalai Lama and for the independence of the nation. A nation which does not use any destructive weapon. It's a great pity for the culture and tradition of such an enriched nation to be wiped out.

I pay my heartfelt and respectful homage to all the Tibetans who have sacrificed their lives fighting Spiritually and Pacifically to regain the freedom of Their Country, the "TIBET".

Thanks for your reading. Below are some pics of the Tibetans, I may post more later, if required.

THE LEGEND OF PAUL AND VIRGINIA OF MAURITIUS

The most famous love story in Mauritius, known worldwide in literature and films is: THE LEGEND OF PAUL AND VIRGINIA. , written by Bernardin de Saint-Pierre in 1787.. here, it is in brief as possible.

"When true love breaks down the barrier, even death cannot separate the loving souls"

In the 17th century, two French women fled France to hide their dishonor of being pregnant. So they came to Mauritius, the former French island at that period. The mother of Virginia, was from an aristocrat family, and the mother of Paul was a peasant woman. Fearing the consequences of the social classes there, they both came to live in Mauritius.

In 1726, they gave birth to Paul and Virginia, with the help of the slaves here. The two grew up as brother and sister. The two young mothers and their enjoy a simple life that seem to erase their un-savory past. Paul and Virginia grew in harmony with nature and their candid innocence protect them from any evil act or thought.

Paul and Virginie grew up, and there started the unease of Virginie. She discovers that the nature of her feelings for Paul have changed. He had till then only been a brother with whom she could share her happiness and her games. She guessed that the tenderness she had for him was changing into love, and she imagined him as a mate and husband. They both fell in love despite the difference of society between both of them.

Once, a cyclone came and destroyed the crops. Virginia, seeing the devastation, said to Paul that everything he had, were killed or lost, and he had nothing left to give to her except his picture . Barely had she spoken that Paul ran to his mother's house to give it to her. Virginia, touched by his action, swore that as long as she lived, she would never forget that act.

Later, Virginia's mother received a letter from France asking her to send Virginia there, for a good education and the wealth inheritance from a Great-Aunt. Though Virginia's mother was happy for that but Virginia herself refused to go, for the love she had for Paul. She was convinced by the then French Governor here.

Virginia had to leave for France even against her wish. There the Great-Aunt intercepted all her mails from here but after 2 years, Virginia couldn't continue with the sumptuous aristocrat life in France. She was torn apart by her separation from Paul. She didn't care for the wealth neither could adapt to the European lifestyle.
The Great-Aunt wanted to get Virginia married there but Virginia preferred to be dishonored and forced out of France to be back to her beloved Paul.

In 1744, on the voyage back, at the point of reaching her native island, the Saint-Géran was caught in a cyclone while bringing her to Isle of France (Mauritius). It sank in the sea, at the sight of Paul who was happily waiting for her arrival. Halas!, nothing could be done at that moment as the cyclone was hitting its worst and Virginia got drowned and died in front of the eyes of her beloved Paul, who remained helpless and in tears on the shore.

His happiness and his beloved Virginia were lost forever. Unable to bear it, Paul then died under the weight of his great pain and his immense sorrow.
That was the tragic end of these two beautiful lovers, who despite the differences in the society classes, loved each other other until death parted them, but their legend still lingers on.

Happy reading and viewing the related pics, I hope the story has pleased you.
Thank you,

THE MAASAI TRIBE OF KENYA

Maasai tribe is the most well known tribe in Kenya and Tanzania. They are known to be very tall and fierce worriers, always wearing red cloths, which is called Shuka. Maasai people live a nomadic life. The men herd cattle and carry spears to protect their cattle from wild animals. The Maasai women are responsible for cooking, collecting sticks for the fire and building the home. They rely on their animals for food (including milk, meat and Animal blood) and walk for many miles with their animals to find Fresh food and water. The Maasai live in shelters called manyatta which are built from branches and grass.

Most Maasai people live in the Maasai Mara Reserve which is a
Large park in the South West of Kenya. It is named after the Maasai people who live there. Maasai homes do not have windows or chimneys so it is dark and smoky inside. Animal skins are laid on the floor and are used for warmth. There is no electricity or running water. When food and water run out the Maasai pack up their homes and walk across the land to a place where there is food and water for their animals, which are Goats, Lambs and Cows, the most important possessions for the tribe. The Maasai tribe has a deep, almost sacred, relationship with cattle. They are a proud pastoral tribe famous for their authentic culture, who have steadfastly clung to their traditional values and customs. The Maasai tribe of Kenya is world-famous for its beautiful beadwork, which is created by the women of the tribe and worn in rituals and ceremonies by both. Their diets are: Raw milk and Raw Blood and meat and Butter from their cattle, Ear piercing and the stretching of earlobes are also part of Maasai beauty, and both men and women wear metal hoops on their stretched earlobes. Theyoften walk barefooted or wear simple sandals made of cow hid.

THE TRIBAL TRADITION OF THE MAASAI
Most of 99% of Maasai women and GIrls have undergone type1 FGM/C know as a clitoridectomy, which involves the removal of the clitoral hood.. In a bid to protect their honour and the honour of the Maasai society, all Maasai girls who reach adolescence are circumcised. The aim of female genital mutilation therefore to limit the sexual desire and promiscuity of girls.
Today, because the procedure often has to take place in hiding, female circumcision is mostly performed using shared and unsterilized objects, which causes severe bleeding, infection, inflammation of cells , tetanus and damage organs including the vaginal walls and often cause death, due to poor sanitary conditions and complications during childbirth. This practice is just to reduced sexual desire
FGM/C is perceived as bringing honor to a girl and to her family; by making her eligible for marriage, it raises the status of her family in the eyes of society. The Maasai have held to the custom despite criminalisation of the practice by the Kenyan government in 2002.
They still favour the practice of female genital mutilation, not because they are uninformed about the risks involved, but for fear of the social repercussions, should they reject the custom. Girls and women who refuse to be circumcised risk isolation, their chances of finding a Maasai spouse are reduced to almost nil, and their status in society will always be that of a .

In 99% of the cases, FGM/C is “sponsored” by a prospective suitor. The rite includes a ceremony in which the entire community comes together to celebrate the girl’s passage to adulthood. This belief has contributed greatly to the practice of early marriage among the Maasai.

But this is a DANGEROUS practice for the and young too. There is no Human Rights in this case as it is their practice and tribal tradition and it is done in many countries in Africa and in the Middle East also.

I hope this info has pleased, thanks for your reading.
and happy Viewing too.

NATIVES OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA AND THEIR CULTURAL DIVERSITIES

Following my previous blog on " Birds of Paradise", which are found mainly in Papua New Guinea, I have today uploaded a blog in brief and a few pics on the Culture and Tradition of the Natives of Papua New Guinea.

Papua New Guinea, is an Oceanian country that occupies the eastern half of the island of New Guinea, a region of the southwestern pacific ocean. Its capital is Port Moresby.
Papua New Guinea is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world. 848 languages are listed for the country. Most of the population of over 7 million people live in customary communities, which are as diverse as the languages. It is also one of the most rural, as only 18 per cent of its people live in urban centers. The country is one of the world's least explored, culturally and geographically, and many undiscovered species of plants and animals are thought to exist in the interior. At the local level, the majority of the population still live in strong customary societies. These societies and clans are explicitly acknowledged within the nation's constitutional framework. Tok Pisin is a symbol of national identity and a preferred means of communication. Hiri Motu, is a trade language.

People of the highlands engage in colorful local rituals that are called "sing sings". They paint themselves and dress up with the feathers of The Birds of Paradise, pearls, animal skins, colorful beads and sea shells, cassowaries are used also, their bare quills carved into nose-pins and ear-rings, their leg-bones fashioned into implements and their sharp claws fitted to arrow-tips.
In New Guinea the birds of paradise were and again are still the chief targets. The feathers of these beautiful birds are used in ceremonial headdresses, to represent birds, trees or mountain spirits. Sometimes an important event, such as a legendary battle, is enacted at such a musical festival.

I hope my brief story and the related pics would please you.
Happy viewing.

Today, I have posted my blog on THE BIRDS OF PARADISE. These special species have their sanctuaries in Papua New Guinea forests. Below are some info and a few pics which I have also posted for the pleasure of the eyes.

It's morning on the island of Papua New Guinea and the lowland forests erupt with the crowing calls of Birds of Paradise. Male Raggiana Birds of Paradise perform elaborate displays to attract females, sometimes even hanging upside-down with their wings pointing upward.

The males are richly coloured with flamboyant feathers while the females are generally dull so they are inconspicuous when sitting on their nests. These birds also perform the most amazing courtship displays, none more spectacular than the Raggiana bird of paradise. To attract a female, males throw out their golden-red feathers, shake them, clap their wings over their backs and call vigorously. They perform elaborate displays to attract females, sometimes even hanging upside-down with their wings pointing upward. The local people like to gather the beautiful feathers to decorate the elaborate wigs they wear during festivals and ceremonies. Forty-three species of Birds of Paradise are found on or near New Guinea. There's a world of birds out there.

Forty-three species of Birds of Paradise are found on New Guinea. There's a world of birds out there. There are also others, called the wire-birds, they have a wire-like type at their tails or heads and some are called Ribbon Birds too.
They range in size 15 cm to 44 cm; however the longest species can be estimated at 110 cm. These animals are breathtaking to look at as they are very beautiful and spectacular too. Animals like these ask the mercy of humans and ask them to actively participate in different campaigns to save their species, which add to the beauty of nature.
I hope they have pleased you, I have many more pics too but just allowed to post only 10 pics at a time on here.
Happy viewing.
