Former Obama adviser David Axelrod reacted to Biden’s awful address this week, saying that it reinforces the idea that Biden is too old to be president. Axelrod has been voicing concerns about Biden for months, angering some people on the left in the process.

Former Obama advisor and CNN senior political analyst David Axelrod recently claimed that President Biden’s “angry” press conference in response to Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report on him “reinforces the meme” that the president is too old.
Axelrod told CNN anchor Anderson Cooper that the president’s defiant response Thursday night to Hur’s findings that he has “poor memory” and thus should not be charged for illegally holding classified documents, probably did not solve the “problem” of the majority of voters thinking he’s too old and too incompetent for the job…
“He did contradict elements of the special counsel’s report. And that undoubtedly will go on,” he said, adding, “And then he was quite angry, not just at the release, or the characterizations of the special counsel, but of what some of the reporters were asking him.”

Joe Biden on Thursday evening delivered remarks after Special Counsel Robert Hur released a 345-page report on the stolen classified documents investigation.
Joe Biden STOLE SCIF-designated classified documents and improperly stored them at the Penn Biden Center, his Delaware garage, his Virginia home, and his lawyer’s Boston office.
Hur found that Joe Biden “willfully retained” classified information, however, he decided not to charge him. Hur said there is evidence Biden retained classified notebooks, “knowing he was not allowed to do so.”
The Justice Department defended not bringing charges against Biden because he’s a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
“We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory. Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him – by then a former president well into his eighties – of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.” the report read.
Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked Joe Biden about Robert Hur’s decision not to charge him because he’s a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
Biden responded to Doocy with snark: “I’m well-meaning and I’m an elderly man and I know what the hell I’m doing and I’m the president and I put this country back on its feet…”

Biden was giving unscheduled remarks on the evening that the Department of Justice released a report on his handling of classified documents that deemed he was not mentally fit to have knowingly committed a crime.
After finishing reading his prepared speech from the teleprompter, Biden began taking questions from reporters who were present.
Biden took a question regarding Israel and Gaza.
The president said that the situation in Gaza has been “over the top,” and then stated that the “president of Mexico,” Egypt’s President el-Sisi, did not want to open their border to allow in humanitarian aid.
