"Cult of Ignorance"

Some talk lately about a "Cult of ignorance" permeating American society is often mentioned in the blogs, and I'd have to say I agree.

That ignorance can usually be found among the "pseudo-intellectuals" identifying themselves as "liberals," or "progressives."

I say this because among that group, are many who put on the air and demeanor of what they perceive to be the stereotypical "intellectual", yet are simply wearing a costume that they think will gain or keep their acceptance into what they perceive to be the "in crowd". (Like Jr High students wanting to sit at the same lunch table as the cool .)

By branding themselves as the "intellectual" group, liberals have long tried to claim the high road both logically and morally, but these days it is finally coming to light that they are neither. A college degree does NOT make an intellectual, but they often parade around as such, while simply acting like drones towing the party line.

A real intellectual thinks independently, and included within their mental facilities is wisdom, rather than mere intellect and knowledge alone. In addition, and as a result of this capacity for wisdom, they have courage, because a greater good comes from stating the truth instead of what one wants the reality to be.

Because they simply follow trends and the crowd, I submit to you, that the real "cult of ignorance" is primarily to be found among those who believe like liberals do.

!: He has demonstrated that the American people are fed up with political correctness.

2: In so doing, he's exposed the biased mainstream media and forced America to look more closely at them.

3: He has shown the Republican Party the futility of their cowardice over the years in fear of how the media will spin things.

4: And in so doing #3, he has exposed how vast the extent of RINOs exist within the GOP.

5: And all this has exposed the hypocricy of Progressives and the Democratic Party.

I haven't been as personally invested in this election as I was in the last one. I still don't consider myself an American in the sense that I did prior to Nov 6 of 2012. And even if Trump wins, I would only be proud to associate myself that way if it's a landslide victory. I felt America died in Nov 2012. This past year it has been nice to hope for a resurrection, and I still hope for that. But I'll be okay no matter how it turns out. As I said back then, there are just some things I will never comply with even if they redefine me as a criminal for it.

But all that being said, THANK YOU DONALD TRUMP!

This is a pic from the advertisement of the cart I bought to modify.

Here is a pic of how I modified it. The top is 7 inches lower, and is heavily supported by 2x4s and the 3/4" plywood sides and back. This way it's useful from a seated position, as I will often use it with my laptop computer while seated on my couch or outside on my patio. (I also painted the original cart brown to coordinate better with the places I'll be using it.) This pic was taken while rain clouds were menacing the sky so I draped a piece of plastic over it and weighed it down with some paint cans. But one can see the tools I was using that day. Also, on the side one can see the surge suppressor I mounted for electrical access and protections. I'm seriously considering adding a pull-out keyboard that I have a spare of, altho if one looks closely they can make out the floating surface I made from a scrap piece of fiberboard that had the same formica surfact that I used for the bottoms of both top and lower shelves. I had originally planned to cut off the two remaining posts that are opposite the handle but realized they may serve some useful purposes so I left them. (One is currently holding a roll of paper towels.) The original manufacturer claimed this cart would support 600 lbs, but now I'd feel confident putting 1000 or more on it if I had to. However, my main intention was just to make something solid enough that I could pound on it with a heavy hammer, and I'm confident this will take the abuse.

Thanks for reading and hope u liked my idea.

Dear friends and neighbors,

In an effort to remove any confusion or premature excitement, I'm taking this opportunity to announce officially that I will not, repeat not, be accepting the invitation to run with Donald Trump on the Republican Ticket as Vice President of the United States.

I did not make this decision lightly. But after much consideration I feel my duties to my Thursday Night Dart League are at a critical juncture so I'd be remiss in my responsibilities there. I am just too busy and my teammates are counting on me. I'd also miss the happy hour beer prices.

My name is GavinLS, and I approved this message.

Thank you.

I'm reconsidering,,,,,,,,,,

I'm reconsidering my stance on the gun control debate.

If I agree that we should ban guns, what plan have those who favor banning them, to keep them out of the hands of criminals and/or terrorists?

And with a disarmed populace, or a populace with substandard weapons, how would you prevent a domineering government from becoming tyrannical, and oppressive?

Just curious.
