the risk of stirring up a dervish, I am attaching a short story I recently read.
I take no . Just found it creative! LOL

His girlfriend looked him in the eye, and pleaded passionately.

I want it. I'm all wet and I need it.
I really need it and I want it now!

He looked back her and said.....

I already told you no!
I am not going to give you my damn umbrella!

Well that was a disappointment. Someone flirted with me. I tried to flirt back but much to my chagrin, it was not to be. I could not even return the gesture. So sad. LOL I am still learning the limits of being a free member.

I enjoy messaging back and forth to learn about each other and the blog seems to be the only way to accomplish this delightful waste of time. It's open for anyone to read and 's ok since I have nothing provocative or intimate to say here.

The question of becoming a paid member mostly has to do with logistics. Lots of fun people to exchange thoughts with in the blogs, but everyone is so far away. Little opportunity to actually meet people in real life. Not even talking as a romantic liaison, just to get together to share a meal and share stories. So for now, I'll enjoy the distant company of the dreamers and story tellers!
Spring.... Yay!

OK. For all the wonderful people do not live in the northern USA, your change of seasons has probably already happened. But for us crazy people live along the Canadian border, northeast Ohio for , the advent of spring is an elusive creature. For example, couple ago we got 2 feet of snow the end of April. Not normal, but it happens.

Blah, blah, blah. I know. But I share this because today was an awesome day. The rain has washed all the road salt away. And means its motorcycle riding season. This has an aphrodisiac like quality in it makes my spirits soar. Open roads. Wind, and bugs, in the . This afternoon was sunny, upper 60s, and I found lots of miles to explore. roads, new roads. Meeting friends and making new friends. Makes life fun and peaceful. the same time. Go figure one ! LOL

For those don't ride motorcycles, I'll ask you to remember when you first got your driving license and hopped in the car just to go for a ride. Nowhere in particular to go, just the thrill of driving around exploring. Then I'll ask how many of you still do take ride to nowhere. Perhaps some. But I guessing most have long forgotten thrill. So, the point of sharing this story is , ar least for me, motorcycle riding keeps thrill alive. I have been riding for some time and it never gets . What's your adventure??
If you don't know where you are going....

Years ago, I heard this phrase.

If you don't know where you are going....any road will do!.

It took me a while to figure out what it really meant, but over time it began to make more and more sense. Our lives ultimately are molded by decisions we make. Some obviously important. Some seemingly trivial. But they all add up in the vignettes that become our stories.

So, back to the phrase. In the mad dash of life sometimes folks are in a rush to make a decision, to get somewhere, to check something off a list. I need a job, so I take the first one offered because it helps pay the bills. Then 20 years later it became the bane of your existence, because you never looked back. I need a date, because I'm lonely and they said ok ... becomes a lifelong partner. If you are lucky you grow into each other. Many are not so lucky.

So, I guess the point of this post is that, at many moments in our lives, taking the time to reflect on who we are and what we hope to achieve can play a large role in our internal contentment and happiness. In a world where there are 360 degrees of choices, before one sets off, knowing why you are heading in that direction can improve the odds that your actions will help you achieve your goals!

And now back to your regularly scheduled programming.
The chipmunk

Another post about nothingness.

So i headed off for an early day in the woods. Pre-dawn darkness gave way to the first rays of sunshine. Rain finally moved out and the ground had absorbed the puddles. Yay. No more soggy bottom. Hunkered up against a large oak tree, I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye. I turned by head slowly toward the movement.

Staring back at me from the emptied hollow of a fallen tree was a very curious chipmunk. It stared at what must have looked like a very strange camouflaged shape with eyeballs. I stared back. Neither of us blinked. And then. Then I could swear it roared at me! Its head rolled back and its mouth opened wide. There was a small noise of course, but for a chipmunk it must have sounded ferocious! LOL Who knew chipmunks could roar!

These are the small joys keep me heading out into the woods on many a morning.

And now back to your regularly scheduled programming!
Flirting... Round 2!

I do enjoy flirting, and when stimulated by a receptive response can get a little creative. And I'm not talking about hitting the FLIRT button. Sometime I think it's a lost art in today's wold of instantaneous gratification. I love to get people to drift and seduce their mind in a way that is not graphic but entirely suggestive. If's crazy fun when two or more animated and creative minds start playing off each other's words. But that's just for fun, a little bit of adult play if you will. It's as far as I can go when people are too far away. That being said, the banter can be highly stimulating and if well done highly addictive!

Sometimes I wish that the witty call and response dance could be played out in public for the rest of the blog watchers to view. Entertained by the whimsical dash of sensual verbal sparring. Just a wee bit of verbal voyeuristic pleasure if you will.

I'm sure this has been discussed repeatedly and to ad nauseum, but I'm still relatively new here so perhaps all will give me some leeway.

This is a global site. There are wonderful folks from all over the world that are fun to chat with and share thoughts and ideas. Or perhaps someone to enjoy some more risque flirtation with.

But distance is an issue. At least for me. Aside from gentle word play with these nascent acquaintances, the prospect of a real friendship or relationship does not seem to be a likely event. Not saying that it doesn't happen, but the seeds of lasting intimate relationships take time to germinate and grow. They need to be nurtured and fed and coddled. With heaps of reciprocity.

So, although it's nice to get the interest of another potentially wonderful person, in my case a woman, I just don't know what to do when the prospect of seeing each other requires some herculean effort just for your first face to face. It takes time for people, friends, lovers, acquaintances to really get to know each other. Slowly revealing the inner tickings that make each of us who we are and discovering the similarities and differences in others. And that's the interesting part, because sometimes things get stronger and sometime they just fade back to nothingness

As always, I hope I didn't offend anyone. And perhaps others can add their thoughts to this conundrum!
A Body in Motion

A body in motion stays in motion. Hey, we all get older from the day we are born. Someone once said the leading cause of death is birth! LOL But, that being said, it doesn't mean we have to do it gracefully. We can go down fighting it every step of the way. In other words, don't give up.

I've been blessed with decent genetics so I have been able to keep active since before I can remember. I love sports and being active. Playing!. I am a terrible fan because I would rather do something than watch something. And if you aren't sweating, you aren't trying hard enough. One time, even though I injured a few things in the process, I completed the New York marathon. Needed a long vacation to recover. Today, I spend a lot of time mountain biking. Easier on the joints. Unless you do something and tumble down the mountain. LOL

So not that anyone really cares about this, but I thought if I could inspire just one person to go for a hike or a bike ride its worth the time to share the thought. Rock on!!
Before spring!

Thank you aIl for sharing your thoughts on my previous post.

I too love the snow and the winter. When I lived out west you couldn't keep me out of the mountains and the beautiful ski areas. In Ohio, the skiing is not so much of a thrill but getting outside in the snow is one of those inexpensive adventures that keeps on giving.

Instead of hunkering inside, slip into some warm boots and go for a long hike deep into the woods. Wildlife galore if you are patient enough to actually see what goes on in the wild when no one is looking. And in Ohio, if you enjoy bow hunting , who needs an excuse for getting outdoors. LOL And for the record, you spend a lot more time looking than you do drawing and aiming.

One more thing. I still shovel my own snow. So I can get the truck out of the driveway and head to the gym. Some of us guys refuse to get old! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!
