~~~All Kinds Of Loss~~~
This won't mean anything to anyone unless you've experienced this particular loss. Yesterday, a dearly loved friend of mine passed away.
A gifted, singer, songwriter, musician who should have been one of the famous.
He sent to me, on FB, my favorite recording of his, "So Many Roads", with many pictures of roads he kept from my postings. (on my FB page now)
I'm sharing this because it says a lot about 'online friends' being real. Larry was a friend of a friend and sent a friend request. Joy called this morning with the sad news of Larry passing. She cried, I cried and we both are hurting. We never met in person but couldn't have been closer.
I'm saying, feelings transcend space and time and are so very real. These feelings were never romantic. There was a thread ran through my friends, the friends of theirs and was just a special connection.
Has this happened in your life?
Patti's Blog on relationships deteriorating, prompted a few thoughts.
If you feel that you must conform and be anything other than your authentic self~~You're not in a relationship, you're in a situation.
Observing, I have to wonder how any relationship survives past "Hello" ....People, generally, don't seem to like, much less respect, each other any more.
Times have changed. People don't really want the responsibility of commitment.
So many generalities yet, really, it's unique to any two people.
Bonnie Raitt sang it best:
" I can't make you love me if you don't...
You can't make your heart feel something it won't."
What if we come into the physical with our accounts filled.
Our 'emotional energy' being one account and it's all we have for our lifetime.
That drained feeling is an indicator that it's being used up and for self preservation, we may have to 'run and hide', as I call it.
There are so many people that I love dearly and yet, I have to keep a little space around me.
So often, this can be thought to be depression or some other disorder. In my case, nothing could be further from that.
I'm so content and my life is full of everything I hold dear... where I live, my daughter and soninlaw, all our fur babies and Roo, and the love and appreciation that I have for so many friends that I've met in person or from online.
I've had 'my last love' and it was so precious.., again, another account drained. I love having male friends to chat with and flirt a little in a playful way, but have no desire to even meet for coffee...that's just too close.
It helps that the people that matter and I hold close to my heart, understand and know that 'I love them' and it has to be enough...a lot of the time.
"They ARE JEALOUS of me because they don't like me."
Let that sink in a minute.
Honey, 'jealous' ain't it, read the rest
If you are a newbie to a chatroom, sometimes you can inadvertently ruffle the feathers of others , simply for lack of understanding some basic rules of chatroom etiquette and the history involving long time friends in the room.
I spent some time looking at the articles, hoping to find some reason for the decline in participation of chatting. I found list after list of basic behavior that most people, 'specially seniors, should have learned when we were children.
One thing that baffles me are people who don't like a conversation or have nothing to contribute, pop up and say "lurking" or "still lurking" or "this is not a topic I'm interested in"...etc, etc Either contribute or just hush up and go...
Do unto others~~~~~Salutations (a gesture or utterance made as a greeting or acknowledgment of another's arrival or departure.) are nice and appreciated.
Anyone who complains about not being greeted and then throws a hissy fit when people greet them, are an enigma..... (a person or thing that is mysterious, puzzling, or difficult to understand).... to me.
Oh and for heavens sake, keep your language clean. Ive never heard so called "sailor language" like some ladies use. If you want to tell me something ugly, at least smile and bless my heart
Any pet peeves whether chatting online or in person?
There is a popular show on television called "Catfish".
I'm a curious kitten and research things that peek my curiosity.
There is a term, "Umbrella", that refers to many disorders that come under one or more categories including mental and social disorders..
I found it interesting that anyone can find at least one, if not MANY symptoms and claim to have them.
Especially after viewing a Catfish show, where friends, made online, were duped into feeling sorry for and contributing financially to someone who was very convincing having done their own research and self diagnosis.
What we are told by anyone in a chat room or any communitative medium, is all we really know about anyone that we don't know personally.
There is hardly a family that has not been impacted by these "Umbrella" disorders and diagnosis. My soninlaw's nephew with Autism , my father had Alzheimers and Parkinsons...on and on..These things affect us all and my heart hurts for the patients and their families and caretakers.
Bottom line is, we can choose to believe or disbelieve, and remember...Saying So, doesn't Make It So
~~~~~What I Mean, Not What I Say~~~~~

Irony is "the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal
meaning." ...

Likewise, if I say something to you intending you to understand it one way, even
though I mean it another way,

I am speaking ironically.

This pointed out, I realize that in different cultures, countries, even different parts of my country, there are all sorts of colloquial phrases and terms.

I would think that a HIGHLY EDUCATED and WELL TRAVELED man would know this simple truth.

Anyone...ANYONE...that knows me, even briefly or from afar knows...KNOWS....that I would cause not one person, or creature any harm, in any way.

And so, I'm saying that if you feel the need to reprimand me in front of the class... (lobby) ....then maybe You can just KISS MY GRITS ... (said IRONICALLY)
