Time for coffee

Today's coffee break is brought by Trenary Toast and US 2....Contrast Coffee roast the US 2 blend a few hours away in Iron River. They do have excellent coffees and I was tickled pink to find this blend locally. Trenary Toast is an ages old rusk Toast made at the Trenary Bakery....I am old so I remember back when it was tossed in a plain paper sac. Now it has a slightly sturdier paper sac. This bakery has been around so long that the babies who cut their teeth gumming this Toast as toddlers, are gumming it again fresh dipped in their coffee while their dentures soak. These are must haves if you visit. The town of Trenary is known for two things its famous Toast and The Trenary Outhouse Classics (a winter festival featuring outhouse races). Having eaten the Toast in the photos, I am suddenly hoping the two are not somehow related.

Forgive the feeble photo quality. I am just excited about this year's fun adds for the Easter Egg Hunt. Amber bugs, monasaur teeth,...fun stuff I get as excited as the kiddos!

Trash Day

Rufus's Favorite day of the week! If you are a in our neighborhood, there is no better day than Trash Day. This is because our trashman is a genius. He leaves a doggy bone on the top of every can. Like Pavlov, he has trained them to associate his presence with getting a wonderful treat. No problems with being chased by barking growling dogs. They await him anxiously and greet him with wags.

I would like to think people have been gone because there is a trend in meeting in person, going back to what was, etc. The days of what felt like "real" friendships or romances. Sadly, that is not often the case. Sadly, I think many have become attracted by true "hookup" sites. Those seem to be thriving with strong memberships and continuous action. Then we have all the political angst, it really takes the fun out of things. Kudos for having strong feelings and ideas and for sharing them. No kudos to those who bludgeon others with them. Myself, I am usually at work. I work in a place that can't keep people. No one seems to be a dedicated employee these days. I do a lot of 12 and 16 hour shifts. I am thinking this cycle is coming to an end. Not because the company is bettering itself, but because I am looking elsewhere. Wherever your path leads you, enjoy!

Dinner and a show

Tonight dinner was in Saint Ignace MI in a restaraunt overlooking Lake Huron, where we watched fighter jets performing patrols. My thoughts is the show is not yet over. Whatever is going on, there is more than meets the press. I am feeling like Paul Harvey here and wanting to know, "The rest of the story"
