Supporting a Dream is not necessarily financial

Supporting a dream does not mean financing the process. Or financing anything else in the partners life. People need to work and be responsible for their own....whether is is a share with someone else or their own responsibility.
I don't speak of a dream as in...we love each other. A dream refers to....a business, a plan for the future, a career, etc. Some venture outside ones self that has some reward whether personal or financial.
A few years ago I ran a mini marathon, my longest races to date. I did not win....no surprise. I'll be honest, I never was a spectacular runner, good form, moderate speed, and I did it. I was a member of a council group and some people from my group decided since there was going to be no one there for me "to see me off" they were going to do it. They showed up race day with banners and posters, they cheered when we took off. Some went to major check points, and they were on that last stretch cheering again. Now that is support. Not a check or a new pair of shoes, but just being there.
When I talk about stained glass. Art and design are my dreams. I feel good when I create beautiful designs. I am paid handsomely...which I don't mind either. When I order supplies its $$$. When I get the chance to, I buy out other stained glass artists. This is expensive. It is not yard sale pricing. Second hand yes. Yard sale pricing, NO.
I buy old glass from buildings at auction, I buy scrap. I buy whole sheets.
It is business and a sensible thing to do. This is not something you ask a love interest to do for you. This is not even a decision that involves them. Company money is not personal money.
Showing lack of support is demonstrated like, throwing a tantrum when I might leave the state or country on my job and only my expenses are covered. not being supportive is being jealous over meetings with construction bosses. Meetings are required. Lack of support is sometimes shown by destruction of property and physical violence. These are things that cause serious stress and other problems. This is what lack of support is
This is the person you do not keep, when you keep the dream.

Many years ago on the east coast, I was up late with friend (Nancy) we were baking a gingerbread town for the for Christmas. Nancy's , My , my sisters two.....
Its a nice holiday story if that is all it was. My was approaching One....he was scooting around occasionally biting Nancy's toes (not sure he ever grew out of that). My sisters and Nancy's were the same ages Kindergarten/first grade.
Christmas is indeed a season of miracles and thankfullness.
Just a few years earlier we almost lost Nancy to an untraceable illness. She was pasty white, sick, couldn't keep a thing down, weak, tired, it was a devastating time for her husband, Here they finally had all the time they wanted together and Nancy fell deathly ill. Finally a light was shed, a specialist found that one magic test to clear up everything, Nancy would survive!
Nancy and her husband had only just retired. After lives of hoping dreaming, and wishing, Nancy was pregnant. That Christmas her was six, and Nancy was 71.
Word to the wise, tis coming fast upon us, the season of miracles. Not certain who among us might need this, but careful what you wish for.

Do you know why Andy Warhol's Campbell Soup Can paintings have made millions?

Because a barely known artist, eating soup every day, to afford his dreams....painted them.

He believed in being an artist, and became as common a name in the world of art as Campbell's Soup was in homes across America.

Never wonder if you have what it takes, only wonder if you are willing to give what it takes.

Relationships and the young

I come across a person on another site that often does posts on relationships, one he said "Men you need to stop lying to women, if they like you, they will lie to themselves for you" He wasn't wrong, crude but not wrong. He did a live feed tonight on relationship advice. I swear, I have never before felt like the "normal " person in the room so much as I did tonight.
One question he was asked though hit home. "What if the person you are in a relationship with does not support your dream, do you give up the person or the dreams" The response, "Give up the person, live for the dream"
I have to say I did not expect that. I must say though , sound advise.
I have to admit for a few years now, if a person interferes, they disappear. It happens quicker and quicker to.
I wish I had achieved that super power in my youth, it could have made a lot of moments a lot easier.
He also said every relationship needs 3 things to succeed, 1. Your Life, 2. their Life, and 3. Your lives together. Makes sense.
I am far from relationship material. As the Snowflake generation would say "Do not wife her" lol. The terminology of the young is mind boggling.
As it turns out, sometimes they really do have the right idea.
So, what would you give up, a person or a dream and why?

Thank you Hackers. Now normal people can't log into anything without verifying themselves from here to eternity. I try to log into my accounts and I need to choose three ways to be verified.......How should we send your verification ID....WTF.....How should we send your verification ID.... Shove it...Yep it is you, you may have access to your account. Isn't a password for verification, now we need two or three more for "safety" then what?
So...for safety reasons, I will no longer enjoy the convenience of a "paperless" system, I will be informing all my beloved associates I must be contacted expensively by paper. Where that is not possible, I will close my accounts.
Our world has become ridiculous.

FYI, I can hack their "safety" precautions.....me....who can't even lof into her own chit... How safe is that?

The Real World

For those who sit and watch Hollywood drama, court shows, etc. the following is a dose of the real world. On September 8th 2021, I was in an accident, no fault of my own, due to the negligence of others. I have between myself and my insurance paid over $150.000 in medical expenses, surgeries, recovery etc, I lost over $100,000 in wages. Also, needed a staff for quite some time and still do for heavy things.
My insurance company has a lien against any settlement for their costs, The lawyer gets 30%, and the offer was $40,000.
The reasoning is, there is no way to prove which contractor or employee left the trap door uncovered.
I actually had a person who was...{{{{{was}}}}} considered a friend be so bitter at me because I was so stupid, that I wasn't going to press for compensation. She had a law degree and I was an idiot for not listening. Your law degree is for the state you live in, laws are different everywhere. The courts where I live, don't do this stuff. I told you that. I was correct.
Ironically, a criminal in the same state broke a leg while committing a crime and won over 2 million in compensation. Makes complete sense, right ?
I am not caring about the expenses or losses, I am fine, limited, but fine and life is starting over. Every, and I do mean every, expense was paid.....I would have never retired anyway...I get bored
Word to the wise though, personal knowledge may totally trump your degree. So don't get so uppity that you lose people over your supreme knowledge, it may not be as supreme as your ego thinks.

Did I forget to mention that?

I know we ladies are often told things like, "You are very pretty, why aren't you with someone". This line usually means, "You are cute, are you with anyone?".
I have to respect that. Where I grew up, we called it, 'Sounding The Waters'.
Halloween weekend reminded me why I stay single. I met a wonderful charming fellow, educated, groomed, great conversationalist. Very interesting to say the least. We had done many similar projects in the past. Talked about a few we could do well together with in the future. All around lovely evening.
We met at an event a long way from home. So no worries of "bumping" into each other right? Lol. Wrong. We bumped into each other at a local gas station, when I stopped for coffee. Him, his wife, and four daughters. Later I got a sheepish text, which reminded me to block him . A tip: No one ever casually forgets to mention a spouse.
Funny how it works. Her is your rope, have all the time you need, try not to hang your self.
There is a reason for smiling pretty and walking away more often than not, it is good time management.

Two Glasses of wine in the evening may result in a stroke.

Let her finish off the bottle and you could get much better results.
