A walk in the sun

I walk in the sun
Until dark cloud appear
over the hills
so I walk the other way

The ground begins to tremor
and birds fly away.
I wonder where they're going
I wonder where they'll stay

The clouds blot out the sun
The ground begins to swell
I wonder where I can run
and wish I could fly away

I search for shelter
beneath a tree
past the river
beyond the sea.

where storms do not rage
and solid ground's below
And will it ever be done
the fear of this day

Or will it be the end
When this day is done
Will it never come again
When I walk in the sun

sparklefit wrote an interesting blog.
I respond with a poem. Now i, usually write rhyming poems, I usually don't get the same jist from a non rhyming one.

but this one was different... I need to save it........ Now, it's on my blog...

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rage at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light." Dylan Thomas

I find the Dylan Thomas poem to be "ambitious"

For as long as the light burns
there are things to see.
Darkness comes soon enough
Not to waste the time
To feel the things we see
and see the things we feel.
We can not stop the time.
Yet in time,
We can be stopped,
By the blindness of our rage.

I wonder why someone hates
and where, that can be found
What does it? That motivates
What comes, goes around?

But, it's not the same for everyone
People show It in different ways
directed at a group, a thing or a person
and sometimes different for different days.

Is it genetics, or maybe the environment?
That tries to create the hater
Less for the young and more for retirement
Is there really a hating common denominator?

I found the answer, I need to impart
not so specific, but on the whole
The hate that can be found in your heart
Is matched, by the fear in your soul.

I had to laugh

I laughed so hard last night my cheeks hurt this morning.

During break I was talking with one of my co-workers and we were discussing training the new hires coming to us this week. She was a new hire three years ago.

It takes a five week class before new hires begin working. I have been around a while and usually help them out.

Well, my co workers told me, about me, and my helping out. and she had me stitches.
Why, when she was new hire, she avoided asking me questions.. I always say things like...How did you get to that question? instead of just answering it. It seems my challenging attitude didn't work. Too loud, too aggressive, too demanding. We laughed about it, as she imitated me.

It seems I carry my challenges to learn every where I go. We learn and then we do.
But in my job and in my life. I find the true learning is in the doing, not the thinking about it.

Anyway, I laughed my ass off last night, at myself.

Streets of Gold

I walk upon streets of gold
thinking about what I was told
What paid for it, what had been sold

I saw the riches abound
What comes, should go around
But no compassionate people,, to be found.

A Mexican woman's face I saw
Just wanting to walk with me
A wife, a mother, and a law
She was a criminal, it had to be

Not a r*pist or a thief
Just a person, found in grief
seventeen years had gone by
And no one bothered to ask why

She was r*ped, by men of trust
her family stolen, left in tears
the streets of gold turned to dust
In keeping with, undying fears

I saw a penny on this street
And wondered what it had bought
Amongst these riches..... could it buy for me
Not much, I'd guess, but maybe a thought.

Born into life's light, but no shadow have we
How you cast your light is your shadow to be

Age grows shadows that grow with you
To cast a long shadow there's things to do

Have a friend, give a smile
Do some kindness, love awhile
Be considerate, go the extra mile
Walk in someones shoes
Be humble, win or lose
Touch a stranger, bear good news
Be respectful, not neglectful
Be understanding, not demanding

Good things and more make your shadow grow
It follows you from head to toe

And when your time comes keep this in mind.
Going to the hereafter
Leaves your shadow behind

People who believe others almost always lie, are people who lie.

People who have been hurt, think it's okay to hurt other people.

People who think other people are stupid, are stupid to think that making people less intelligent, somehow makes them more intelligent.

People who can not accept other peoples reasons, don't need to have reasons for what they think.

Only people who are unhappy, judge the happiness of others.

People who choose the truth they see, only see the truth they choose.

People who think they are being taken advantage of, take advantage of other people.

Those who would say their truth is undeniable, denies the truth!

I wrote this in 2010....... Nothing really changes does it?

Happy New Year to all.. 2010
Time keeps pourin in
No matter the cry of "uncle" or "when"

Just wondering where wishes are sent?
and where the lovely mermaid went?
and how the snow falls from the sky?
and what holds back a tear in the eye?

Does a witch really ride a broom?
Do four walls make a room?
Can three blind mice really have fun?
See how they play, See how they run?

Can two hands tell time?
Can one heart make it rhyme?
Can love.. be on the mend?
If it has no beginning and no end

Has today finally become tomorrow?
No more time left to borrow
Is it pay back time? Again,
I can't believe it's 2010!

The expressions on a solemn or joyous day. Speak to me of a person's way.
As I look upon this inauguration, I am moved to write this declaration

**********

I look for a leader, a man to follow
Someone with substance, and not hollow
A person who won't me allow me lose
Even when I allow someone else to choose.

I will follow anyway.
follow from this day
And if I am to fall
I pray to the God of all.

"Give me faith, in what is right
Show me, the truth and the light
And take away, what I most fear
That I follow a man, who can't shed a tear.

Obama's Legacy

I watched Obama being interviewed on TV this morning. I thought about JFK and all the president that have preceded Obama.
I never really trusted any of them. I didn't see people, I saw politicians.
I never thought of JFK as a politician
I don't think of Obama as a politician.

What happens behind closed door, I don't know. What they actually do, I barely have a clue.

But my sense of what kind of person they are is what I see.
From the clown of Jimmy Carter, the self serving of Bill Clinton, and the actor of Ronald Regan. The nondescript George Bush senior, and GW Bush stupidity.
It's what I gathered from their presidency, none of which will go down in history as a great President.
I trusted JFK and I trust Obama. Why? I don't know. It's the positive message, that inspires me. It's the bigger picture, that drowns out the faults of any specifics.

Obama response on Obamacare, and other negatives, was just amazing.
He sees it as meaningful, he gives the negatives, it's place. In fact he says that the way OUR democracy is suppose to work. Changes that beget changes, allows us to move forward and not stagnate. Obama, on Obamacare...said he doesn't care, what it becomes in name. He only care what it has done. It has brought Public Health to the forefront. Where it's been behind closed doors.
The idea of attempting to solve a problem , may not result in the solution, but it does ultimately solve itself, as long as WE keep at it....that again is the way our democracy works.

When asked what would be his one line legacy..
He first asked what JFK's response was.......answer: JFK one line was. "He didn't care what history thought".
Obama line was.. "He believes in OUR democracy"

This wasn't a speech, it wasn't prepared. It was man talking. In a world where I DON'T trust very much.... I trust Obama.

I know many of you can't even read this and separate ideology from the man.
I can. It's not about what the President does, it about what he's trying to do.
