LETTING THE CAT OUT OF THE BOX

well, wrote this about fifteen minutes ago....Thought I'd share, even if it is painful.

*************

You put me in charge
Gave me your trust
Take care of my cat
For us it's a must

But the feline got out
and try as I might
To find her again
To make it alright

You thought I didn't care
but I always did
Put the box in a safe place
Always carried the lid

Everything would be right
If I could find the cat
Thinking we'd all come back
Just needed to think about that

I looked in the wrong places
Followed the wrong clues
Read the wrong faces
Didn't pay the right dues

The day came I found him
The vision of the truth unlocks
Not the cat, but we were lost,
The day I let......
The cat out of the box.

She Came Into My Room

Another of my writing on the poet tree.........dedicated to Cariad

********

She came into my room
Not knowing I was there
She touched my heart and soul
moved me from there to here

She left the room unchanged
that's what others seem to see
but my furniture's rearranged
In the room inside of me

I'll trip over the chair
the table is now askew
the lamps go on and off
without switches to do

She left her words hanging
painting pictures of magic's night
She added color to the walls
Once seen as black and white

Now the pictures tilt a bit
and try to find their place
Yet I can't seem to remember
Which way they use to face

I try to put it all straight
and forget she ever came
but there's too many reminders
To make it be the same

Maybe she will come again
let her magic fill the air
Get be longings back in order
Set my table and my chair

Until that day comes
I'll pray to recover
There's so much to do
Love's magic to discover

What A Man Wants

Today I was re-reading the Poet Tree, and since someday it may it gone. I will post some of my favorites writings on my blog, so I don't lose them.
***********

Does she really understand,
can she possible surmise?
The true needs of her man
are the stars in her eyes

Hanging wallpaper is just a chore
Hanging the moon, says so much more
Pulling out chairs, holding the door
When open hearts, say so much more

Scratching his back, without a "please"
Not just sex, but wanting me
Is scratching the surface, a love tease
Is something he would like to see

Helping to forget, the days trouble
Doing it and getting it done
Not adding to it, making it double
If her right way, takes out the fun.

Being playful, because she wants to play
Making plans that aren't written in stone
Thinking about..what would make his day!
Unless, of course, she's doing it alone.

Never wishing he was someone else
No need to change a thing
It's a simple dream of what could be
and not a lack of understanding

*******
They deleted this yesterday because it's content was unacceptable. Ya gotta be kidding?

Shadows

Born into life's light
but no shadow have we
How you cast your light
is your shadow to be

Age grows shadows
that grow with you
To cast a long shadow
There's somethings to do

Have a friend, give a smile
Do some kindness, love awhile
Be considerate, go the extra mile

Walk in someones shoes
be humble, win or lose
touch a stranger, bare good news

Always temper temperamental, never judge judgmental
Always be respectful, never be neglectful
Always be understanding, never be demanding

Good things and more
make your shadow grow
It will follow you
from head to toe

And before your time comes
Just keep this in mind.
Going to the hereafter
leaves your shadow behind

LOVE'S DREAM

We spend our lives seeking the truth. We do so at the peril of our feelings. For that which does not seem to matter, matters the most. The only truth we really know is in the feelings we possess. The truth in those feelings are uniquely ours, they are our truths. They need not be defended, they need not be agreed to. They are not diminished by other's truth. Nor are they diminished by the sides of coin, like love and hate, or joy and sorrow. Each feeling is it's own reward....It's own truth. At our age, the truths we once sought have become frightening, Yet to feel, and to dream, are still our life defining truth

****************LOVE'S DREAM*****************

My mind dances, to a magic tune
As it wanders, over hills of could be
A rhythm of moonbeams, on a silver spoon
That echoes across an open sea

Oh! to dream, my choosen reality
Of that which may, or may not be
Like Unicorns dancing in the valley
Or Mermaids in the deep blue sea

She is a cloud, a billowing sail
The catches my breathe to see the plight
Too far away to grasp, and then dissipates
when rained upon and held too tight

She is so near.....

In the sound of tumbling waves, the songbird's melody
In a sea of morning air, a breeze upon my face
In a single breathe, a moment that sustains me
The corners of my mind, hearts hiding special place.

The music has begun
The dance need not start
Not played with a golden band
but with the strings of my heart

About seven or eight years ago, I got into a discussion about unconditional love, about getting and giving love. .My side of the discussion was that love, once realized, was always unconditional. That love was only measured by our giving and never by our getting. That there was only conditions to fall out of love and not into it. Red and LadyNads had a different point of view. I thought it was rather silly to put conditions on those we could choose to love, and to protect ourselves by making what we get in return the determining factor to our giving.
Anyway, it inspired a poem, which I dedicate to LadyN and Red.
It's my second favorite, and was also worth my memorization......

*********************** TIN LOVE ***********************

I NEVER KNEW LOVE HAD A GENDER

TIL WOMEN MADE IT SO

THAT LOVE ISN'T JUST THE SENDER

IT'S ABOUT WHAT WOMEN KNOW

*****

IF ONLY MEN HAD A HEART

INSTEAD OF A LOVE TOKEN

THEN WOMEN WOULDN'T PAY THE TOLL

AND THE CYCLE WOULD BE BROKEN

*****

THE TIN MAN HE HAS SPOKEN...

"I HAVE NO HEART IN HERE

THE CYCLE NEEEDN'T BE BROKEN

JUST PEDAL FASTER DEAR"

*****

"GO FIND YOURSELF A CLOCK

AND TIME NOT TO CARE

BUT LISTEN FOR THE TICK TOCK

AND A TIN MAN'S HEART YOU'LL HEAR".

I have written hundreds of poems, yet there's onlya couple I have memorized. most of the time the meaning to me at the time of the writing is more important than the words, so I keep the meaning and let the words go.
Thought I'd repost my favorite.
*****

YOU THOUGHT I HUNG THE MOON AND ALL

YOUR EYES TOLD ME SO

IT MADE ME FEEL TEN FEET TALL

THAT'S ALL LOVE NEEDS TO KNOW

*****

BUT EXPECTATIONS PAID THE DEVIL'S DUE

WHEN WHAT WAS PAID WAS NOT ENOUGH

THE TOLL ON LOVE, THE REVENUE

THAT COUNTS THE UNIMPORTANT STUFF

*****

THE MOON SHINES OVER THE SLEEPING MOUNTAIN

UNTIL CHANGING EYES SAY MORE THAN LIPS

AND THE EXPECTATIONS YOU BEGIN TO COUNT ON

CREATE A LUNAR ECLIPSE

Shadow of Love

In the light of day
love's shadow makes it's way
Once upon a time, not a reflection
but a work of art,
A thing of perfection

Live each moment as your last
and in lasting moments, console your past
Regret not, the where and the when
Think not, the could have been

Cast upon me, the shadows known
A shadow dancer, dancing alone
In my light, let your shadow fall
For in my darkness
no shadow at all

I wrote this awhile ago Since my creativity seems to have lost it muse, for the time being, I'll just repost some of my work

Most of you don't know Cariad, her last post was in 2010, but her words still linger I wrote this poem for her in 2009. I hoped it told her what I thought of her poetry and her friendship. I miss her.

***********

She came to me on worded wings
that lit upon my soul.
Revealing things that should be
Things that make me whole.

She took me to a distant shore
A place of "should have been"
Not to the places of what were.
My reality of "now and then"

She departed without a fond adieu
Her words still painted on my mind
I wonder if she ever knew
She left her art behind.

What people say is what they do.

I responded to a blog of Rentier today and it got me thinking...
Well, first, that's obviously a danger in itself.
But anyway what I thought was that.....

People who trust the least are the most untrustworthy.

That led me to discovered other truths that for most people is undeniable.....
Well, it's deniable but that in itself is covered in the topic here.

It's easy to figure out how people think, if one chooses to think about it.

Cricketisms......

People who believe others are almost always lying are people who lie.

People who have been hurt, will think it's okay to hurt other people.

People who think other people are stupid, are stupid to think that making people less intelligent somehow makes them more intelligent.

People who can not accept other people reasons, don't need to have reasons for what they think.

Only people who are unhappy, judge the happiness of others.

People who choose the truth they see, only see the truth they choose.

People who think they are being taken advantage of, take advantage of other people.

Those who would say their truth is undeniable, denies the truth! That's me, and that's all folks.
