"Bye Bye Miss American Pie". Don McClean Wrote this song ten years after the plane crash that killed buddy Holly, the Big Booper and Richie Valens. He never really explained why he wrote it and what it's about. I listen to some reaction videos on You tube, Although people liked the song, they didn't get it. Although they didn't know, but would realized it when they were told that "the day the music died" was when the plane crashed happened. There are plenty of references in the song of what happened after the plane crash and songs written after that time. Although it was obvious to me, I forgot one must have to live through it to understand it. The songs is loaded with metaphors about what music means. Death takes many forms. The day the music died was about the loss of innocence. The closest I can come to it, and explain it, is though the Beatles. The greatest musical influencers of a generation. Whose complete journey from "I Want to Hold Your Hand" to "Let it Be" explains "Bye Bye Miss American Pie" and our loss of innocence.

The Truth, the ideology, nor the person doesn't matter to these folks. lt's a partisan divide with a character that can totally upset those you dislike, fear, hate, and wish to ELIMINATE. The worse Trump appears to Liberal Americans or moderate Americans, who's silence is considered a Liberal affirmation, the more support he gets. For Trump it's about putting himself ahead of the country and democracy but for his supporters is about putting down Liberalism. His supporters don't wish to destroy democracy . They wish a return to Kind of democracy they once knew without the strain of overwhelming Liberalism. They fool themselves to believe their kind of democracy can overthrow a narcistic tyrant, after their "enemy' has been defeated. Two sayings bring Trump to the forefront "the ends justify the means" and "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" The road these folks travel is a dead-end alley.

There's a fight on the left that tries to "hold it together". When the focus is on the Federal government. While the right is undermining from the ground up. It's ironic that the rights "trickle down' economics becomes the lefts trickle down politics. In both cases it works only from the ground up. There is a failure of both the left and the moderates to not acknowledge the value of controlling local and State governing entities and depending on the Federal government to make corrections that they themselves fail to make. Whether it be fascism, communism, autocracy, or representative governments. The failure is always the same. The idealism of Democracy is that society controls government.. In all other cases of failure Government controls society. The war for our democracy is already lost. For the battle is no longer about our opinions of right and wrong, but WHO gets to control society. When the policy issues involve education, voting rights, guns, conspiracies and corruption, racism, abortion, human rights, and immigration. it's no longer becomes political, it becomes about controlling and the backlash from being controlled.

Monsters

Well, if you want good cry, listen to the song "Monsters" by James Blunt. First heard it on American idol by Iam Tongi as a tribute to his father who had passed. then I had to hear the original by James Blunt There's a difference between Tongi's version and James Blunt's. James Blunt wrote the song while his dad had stage four kidney failure and was terminal. He wrote while his father was still alive. (his father did survive with a kidney transplant). It's not a tribute it's a "goodbye song". It's about the father and his father wanting to hold on for his 's sake.. it's about his father and the responsibility, love, need, protection and making up for his own failures. It never leaves you and forces you to hang on. This song is James permission for his dad to let go. "I'm not your and you're not my father"...this is not literal. It's the metaphor of what a or a father means. Not What a or a father is, but what emotional attachments goes along with being a or a father. What makes it so sad is for James, the , overcoming his own attachment and letting go. As people choose to react to this, and believe the relationship was somewhat strained. It's really a monument to the love they share. We can give up on a lot of things, but the hardest of those is LOVE. Check out both versions out on You Tube.

I have written a lot of poems.. starting about 15 years ago. In a way this site once inspired me.as I began writing when I came here.
At first it was just Pen man ship. But the first poem I wrote, for me and about me, gave me a real sense of purpose both in defining my own life, and my view of the life.
LUNAR LOVE She thought I hung the moon and all Her eyes... told me so It made me feel ten feet tall That's all love needs to know
But expectations paid the devil's due when what was paid, was not enough The toll on love was the revenue that counted the unimportant stuff
The moon shined over a sleeping mountain Until changing eyes, said more than lips And expectations she began to count on Created a lunar eclipse

I have lived alone been independent for ten years Is it true I really need someone? Can I overcome my fears
As much as I like my independence There's something I failed to see The lie of my true dependence Is that nobody really needs me

A walk in the beach Through the wet land eying oceans beyond reach leaving footprints left in sand
Each step an imprint Of what has been touched As I walk or in a sprint some deep and some not so much
A map of the past of where I have been Where memories last of who, where, and when
But in the sunset At the end of my day When the final tide rolls in All my footprints wash away

Why are women smarter than men?

Well, when God created both he gave each a brain.
But when God created man he gave him a penis too.
But God made a mistake that made women smarter.
God did not give men enough blood to operate the brain and penis at the same time.

A Daily Dose of a Disastrous Destiny

Living on the edge.. Some I guess some like it, others never know it, and those that do fight like hell to prevent it. But it always on the ups and the downs..
We can talk about politics and policies, about what's been done and what's being tried. WE can feel the impact of inflation, disease, the economy and our own job and security, The stress that accompanies it.
We can live in the fog of fear, helplessness and hopelessness. Until the fog lifts and we can resume just to live., without the daily reminders.
I don't know about anyone else, but for me the fog has lifted. it's seems, for me, it's lasted seven years, an itch that wouldn't go away..... I now go days without reminders, Without the stress, hopelessness and helplessness.
A realization that as far as what's happening and going to happen politically no longer matters. What matters, that has happened politically, is the relief that the itch has gone away.

How does one know what is the Truth?

Critical thinking rarely reveals the truth. It's not really the job of being a critical thinker.
Critical thinking reveals the LIE not the truth.
Truth is always an assumption when critical thinking has NOT revealed a LIE.
