A farewell note.

So, you have finally decided to leave the place where you had born and lived so long with your friends and relatives and raised your own for someone who lives across a vast ocean and a continent without caring to tell the one who adored and loved you unconditionally year after year expecting nothing from you in return!

May I take this opportunity to draw you attention to the under noted line that speaks for itself:

Quote life happens in a flash: memories are forever.' Unquote

I know that your memories are short-lived! But to many like the one mentioned at above, memories are eternal. They never fade away. They remain engraved in the hearts!! It may sometimes tear a person apart also! Your foolish one is no different. However, I know that he is strong enough to cherish your memories until to the last moment because he could never roll back time to take past memories away! It would surely make him cry in joy momentarily or would make him melancholy when it would remind him something joyous! I can assure you, however, that your memories would never be painful to him. He would truly like you to live in that small town in South Coast with the person who considers you as one in million until death do part you two. Don't play with him as you did with others causing them unbearable pains in love's name!

You may not remember your foolish one then—you may not look for him in those stars shining in the night sky far away from you!

The Tisha Story

Tisha could finally extract a response to one of her large numbers of e-mails sent to him. However, the response was short and to some extent appeared elusive to her! The tone of the message was sad and sounded to her like a swan song! She read it again and again until she started crying alone after putting off the light in her bedroom! After some time, she stopped sobbing and began reciting the message from memory aloud:

I believe you could still remember some of the lines of Terry Jack's song that we used to listen to together. The Vast Ocean that separated us was no obstacle for us to enjoy the song every night!

We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song
Like the seasons have all gone
All our lives we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climb
Were just seasons out of time

It is now time for me to leave for the unknown. Do not ask me to turn back.
Do not tell me you still love me. Let me bear the pain of separation alone while traveling toward the unknown! Just look back once please and ponder upon what I have left for you to hold on to dearly if you really want to hold it until you could measure the fathomless love of mine for you.

I am neither an Army General from the USA nor a business tycoon from the Gulf State of Kuwait nor a product of the current century!

I am what I am!

Allow me please to repeat my favorite poet a bit differently once again here for the last time, Tisha!

If you had mistakenly etched my name in the secluded shrine of your heart, erase it now!
Do remember my friend to untie the thread with my name on your bright bangles!
Erase the vermilion dot in my name that adorned your forehead encircled with scent Sandal
The sweet delight of my bewitched heart must not mingle anymore with the fragrance of your being.
My ardent life and death be plundered with your glory that is peerless!

Tisha could recite no more. She broke into sobbing again.

Next morning she heard the dreaded news on her cell phone from someone unknown to her as was promised to her by him!!!! The call originated from the city where he lived.

To The Mermaid

Riding the mighty waves often
You have many times touched the blue horizon
And walked along the shores of Indian Ocean
Miles and miles looking for the one
You have lost while busy swimming with the Dolphins!

He, who you lost,
Always wanted to go to the ocean
For gliding on blues with you,
To catch a glimpse of the flying Gulls
Is no where to be found now.

Remember, If there is no love,
living alone in total loneliness,
where could he find company?
Tell me please
where could he?

To someone who believed in the Splendor of The Ocean.!

Rescuers to extract remaining five today:

 The third rescue operation is currently underway, rescue mission chief Narongsak Osottanakorn has told a news conference.

 The operation began this morning at 10:08 local time (03:08 GMT), he said.

 Rescuers aim to extract all remaining four boys, the youngest of whom is 11 years old, as well as their 25-year-old coach on Tuesday.

 "All five will be brought out at the same time today," Osottanakorn said as attending reporters and rescue workers cheered.

 A doctor and three Thai navy SEALs who have been staying with the group will also leave the cave today.

Families visit first four boys in hospital:

 The first four boys who were rescued on Sunday were visited by their families on Monday night, though they were kept separated by a glass window over infection fears.

 On Tuesday morning, permanent secretary of the public health ministry Jesada Chokedamrongsuk told reporters all eight boys are "in good health", with no fever and "in a good mental state".

 Two of the four boys who were rescued on Sunday were given antibiotics after showing signs of pneumonia.

 All four boys from the first rescued group can now eat normal foods, though nothing spicy, he said.

 The boys will be kept in hospital for observation for one week.

 "[The boys] are all very very hungry, they're asking for all kinds of food," Al Jazeera's Step Vaessen, reporting from Chiang Raid, said.

 "They basically blindfolded them when they took them out of the cave to make sure that their eyes would slowly adjust to the light again after they have been in the dark for so long ... the doctors have now said that their eyes are all fine," Vaessen said.

Losing You to Get back again

I can't explain why I was reading the poem first and then turned on the music system to listen to it at the dead of the night when everything was quiet everywhere around me!

There was not a sound to be heard except the music coming out of the system that was
turned on! And then it happened.

I called you out loudly to tell you the truth! But you did not respond to the call---You, the quintessential possession of my heart!

As I Travel......

‘As I travel’ has been picked up as the title of the blog from the last line of the first paragraph of a Bengali Bhatiali song (One type of Bengali folk music) translated by me in English to tell someone something that remains still untold!

Bhatiali song tells about the lonely boatmen mainly of downstream of our rivers! It is based upon their lives on the water!

It is a form of folk music of the country where I grew up. Usually these songs were composed by boatmen themselves that covered everything about their life long sufferings, situations of love, their struggles, and the river itself---its beauty and flowing waters and the boats too!

If my readers carefully read the English translation of the song posted below, they will surely understand what the boatman wanted to tell the listeners! In spite of everything they encounter to survive with their boats on the river, they never loose faith in their God whoever he may be!

Bhatiali is a part of our tradition, culture and life that opens our past and present!

The song was written in Bengali by a famous Actor, Movie and Music director, Khan Ataur Rahman and was used in a Bengali Movie by him! He might not be a boatman himself but he grew up with them here in this country like me! If anyone feels like listening the song then he may please Google, “Pothe Pothe Dilam Choriya …” first!

The tears caused by sorrows
That rolled down the cheeks from my eyes
Are sprinkled on the ways as I travel......

O I have no eyes.
O how long I couldn’t see
O I have no eyes.

I see no coast, the river has no edge
Have no home, none to look after,
Yet, I began the journey by a damaged boat
Cutting the waters of the fathomless river!

The tears caused by sorrows
That rolled down the cheeks from my eyes
Are sprinkled on the ways as I travel......

O I have no oar.
No wind on my torn sails either.
O I have no oar.
I have no joy,
No sleep-none in my eyes.

Oh God, there is no end of your humors
You are not kind, not compassionate
Yet I consider you as my own master
Even though I am a life long sufferer!

The tears caused by sorrows
That rolled down the cheeks from my eyes
Are sprinkled on the ways as I travel......

Wish you were there when the sailing boat of a blossoming moon anchored at the port crossing the vast Indian Ocean in full tide! I looked around to locate you but in vain. You were not to be found there on the auspicious occasion when all present were happily busy drenching each other with colors as it was the time to celebrate the colorful spring festival!

Where did you go on that auspicious night? Did it not occur to you that someone who had loved you so much would be there to welcome the sailing boat and would expect you to come ashore to touch him with your soft brush and paint him pink and orange before leaving him alone at the pier finally?

Or were you really there unseen on the boat to take me with you to sail together towards the unknown?

From the sea of Darkness!

From the moonless sea of darkness
Embarked in full tide
The sailing boat of a blossoming moon.

The earth, filled with unseen flowers,
Arranged her vase at celestial shores
With a string of light,
Hued like the golden jasmine.

Moments turned, at moment's banks,
The boat anchored at Dol*,
The earth smiled in her dreams in silence.

Bringing in a boatload of celebration,
Did she finally decide to moor
At the full moon night, this pirate of sleep?

*Dol - a colourful spring festival of the first full moon of spring in this part of the sub-continent.

Street Arts: Pavements and walls of world cities are now being used by many artists as canvas to show their amazing talents.

The Art lovers do not need to visit galleries to enjoy such paintings by spending their hard earned money!

Just walk by the canvas and enjoy free!

The world’s most controversial street artist Banksy’s art work “The Cleaner”. This was painted on Chalk Farm Road in London.

Reposting: Some Thoughts on Mother's Day.

I wish my mother is alive today! She died when I was 60 years old. She was then passing her 90th springs in this world. During those sixty years, she looked after me in addition to having me in her womb for nine months. I can still remember her spending tiring days and sleepless nights catering to our needs. Even after I grew up, she never stopped taking care of me. She was a special woman to my life.

Origin of this particular day could be traced back to the era of ancient Greek and Romans. Some, however, refer to the Mothering Sunday celebrated in United Kingdom much before the festival saw the light of the day in US. However, the way the day is celebrated now, is not even hundred years old!

Here are some easy suggestions that I could collect from a well-circulated local newspaper for those who are lucky to have their mothers still alive and who would like to do something special for them on this day!

You may plan a Mom’s day out, just a day trip with your mother out of the city or village where you live. A relaxing day out in the nature with your loving mother could be one of the best gifts to her.

You can surprise your mother by serving her breakfast in bed on this day. This is the easiest way to make your mother feel happy and joyous too. Do you not think so?

Please do not forget to get her fresh flowers. Fresh flowers could be wonderful gifts for Mother’s Day.

You can also shop for her until you drop dead! It can be anything that your mother likes! Take your mother out for a day of shopping!

You could do many things for your mother to celebrate the day. Think about the best one and do that to make her smile!

Spend the entire day with your mother if you could. Love her and pamper her, Remind her some of the stories she told you to put you to sleep when you were a ! Could you imagine a quality time with your beloved mother than this day?

One thing I feel like telling you here that my mother is still watching me somewhere from Heaven. I can see her smiling and loving face.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Thank you so much for leaving the video link of the song on the particular communication site for reading, listening, and response:

In response, may I request you not blame yourself for deciding to look for that particular site as it was natural for you to do so even though my presence at the desired site has become very much rare and infrequent!
When dust would start covering the harp, the doors would disappear behind the thorny vines unnoticed, the garden would gradually wear the weeds, and the moss would cover the landing site of the pond, you may not please try to remember me, my love--and may not look for me in those distant stars that shine in cloudless nights when I shall be gone!

However, trust me, and please be rest assured that:

“The same melody the flute will play
The days will course in an unchanged way
Boats will be laden from the same pier,
Shepherds will frolic,
And cattle will graze in the same manner
Remember me not then, beloved
Call me not from those distant stars.

Who is it that says I am not there that morning?
You will call me by a new name,
I will be there to join in every game
You will encircle me with renewed ties
And I will come and go as usual – the eternal I
Remember me not then, beloved
Call me not from those distant stars.”

You may not remember me then—you may not look for me in those stars shining in the night sky!
