According to Hindustan Times, the jailed eight donkeys now stand released from Orai Jail, Uttar Pradesh, India after Moody’s local party men and the owners promised not to let the equines roam free. Poor donkeys- from Moody's Jail to private Jails---No freedom!

An image of a Black hole!

Space Science Image of the Week: This spooky sight, resembling fog swirling around a bottomless hole, was captured by the Hubble Space Telescope

Wish I could find out what is going on inside this bottomless hole like the scientist of a spaceship who had dived into such a black hole after orbiting the hole in the ship and ended up in another universe! ( A Walt Disney Film)

No amount of empathy could make her stop shedding tears silently.
These are the two eyes full of tears of a ROHINGYA R*pe Victim.
Shame to Aung San Suu Kyi for her failure to save the woman who unfortunately is a ethnic minority born in Myanmar!
The on going ethnic minority cleansing in Myanmar by Burmese Military must have saddened Buddha who taught his disciples not to harm even an insect!

A letter from a Rohingya.

Yesterday morning, while looking for latest news on Rohinga Crisis, I came across a tweet posted by a lady named Janelle reading as under:

Jenelle ‏ @Jene_lle Sep 24

While the world focuses on #SuuKyi, the man responsible for these horrific abuses gets little condemnation. #Myanmar #Genocide #refugees

Immediately, I remembered having watched a video telecast-ed by Al Jazeera TV on September 23 at 5:30 pm about the Rakhine People now being driven out brutally from their country of birth named Myanmar by its ruler who happen to be the country’s Armed Forces, the Buddhist Monks and majority of Burmese people who are not supposed to kill even an insect according to the great religion they practice. But they are now mercilessly engaged in killing a group of people systematically who happen to practice a different religion than the majority Buddhist.

While the video was being played on the screen, a portion of the text of a letter slowly started appearing line by line on the screen that read as under:

A message to the world from a Rohingya.

Quote……….For all my life, all 24 years of it, I have been a prisoner in the open air jail ----Rakhine State.

I was born in Myanmar as were my parents but my citizenship was snatched away before I was even conceived!

My movement, my education, my access to health care and career has been heavily restricted because of my ethnicity!

I am banned from working in the government. I am denied the right to higher education. I am barred from visiting the capital Yangon. I am even stopped from leaving northern Rakhine State.
I am subject to the worst form of discrimination all because I am a Rohingya Muslim.

For years my people who had been denied their most basic rights and killed on daily basis, shot dead in plain sight, forcibly and systematically made homeless. Our homes razed in front of our very eyes. We are the victims of a brutal State.

For you to fully appreciate what our conditions are like, I am going to use an analogy:

Imagine a mouse stuck in a cage with a hungry Cat.

Our only method of survival is to run or hope someone help us to get out! For those of us that remained, there is a systematic campaign to separate us from the wider Rakhine Community. We are called” Kalar” dirty stinky people by the Buddhist to our faces. Whether you are a , whether you are an old man, no one escapes the abuse.

When Aung San Suu Kyi, a Nobel peace prize winner, won parliamentary election in 2015, we had high hopes that change coming. We were confident that this woman hailed as a beacon of democracy our abuse and oppression would end.
Sadly it soon became clear not only would she not be our voice, she would ignore our suffering.
In the end she failed us. Our last hope failed us…………..Unquote

Needless to mention here that the live pictures of the video that was telecasted by Al Jazeera simply reminded me my favorite poet Robert Burns's unforgettable line, “man’s inhumanity to man.” that he used in his heartfelt poem titled “ Man Was Made to Mourn: A Dirge”.
Believe me, the live video made me cry for the innocent and unarmed men, women and who were being mercilessly shot at and killed by the Burmese Military because they were unfortunately non Buddhist!

I have refrained myself from posting any picture of the brutal killings that are still going on In Myanmar for obvious reasons. Hope my readers would understand why this has been done! However, I feel now that justice will not be done to the victims of the Rohingya Genocide unless the photo of the person responsible for the ethnic cleansing of Muslims is posted here together with the photo of Aung San Suu Kyi. Let us shout together---Stop Genocide in Myanmar.

"The bees fly away time and again, the bees return again and again.

Abandon placation, offer and reason, day night near you remain
Oh dear,in losing hope, keep few hopes in hope to win lover's emotion,
Return again and again among fragment flowery woody communication.
May the night of separation in aroma of dewy flowers glide on,
The bees fly away time and again'
The bees return again and again
The bees fly away time and again
The flowers blossom only then"

English translation of first few lines of the Tagore song "Oli bar bar ashe."

Tumi ki Amake Shunte pao? Do you hear me?

She is no longer there in the room! Just gone, as if, with the wind!

Who was she who wafted by my heart just like soothing breeze of spring--- touched me, bought me to my knees, and made thousands of flowers bloom around me?

She went by, without a word to me, never to return again!
On her way she did gaze at me like she did at many others before me singing a song!
What did she sing? Wish I knew!!
So it is by me, I sit in the garden, alone!

Like a wave she rippled, disappeared where the moon beams, smiling at each thing on her way, and leaving behind her laughter for me to endure. Maybe, from the corner of her eye, she might have beckoned me! I don’t know her destination and so I sit by myself in the garden thinking where to go!

Her whispering words to wild flowers caused the heady fragrance went away with her while she passed over the flower garden! Her waving wand made the moon dreamy and dangled a string of flowers somewhere deep within my heart that made my heart fervent and eyes heavy!
Through which place to where did she go?

Who was she who wafted by my heart just like soothing breeze of spring?

Based on R.N.Tagore's famous song "Amar Praner 'pore chole gelo ke" sang by many singers.

Fairytales...Silent Stories.... Listen the song please!

Fred, my friend, you wanted me to translate the song for you in English. I tried but the result of my efforts seems disastrous! Read it, Fred. Talk to your wife and then play the original Song once again. She may help you to understand the meaning of a sentence or two of the song! Others, may also listen the original Bengali song, sang by Sherya Ghoshal. In that case they may have to please Google the following:

Roopkathara- Shreya Ghoshal (Bengali song), Lyrics on Screen

Suddenly the light sparkled through the town,
Fireflies or refreshed memories?
Shaking heart, lonely situation, the nickname settled as Pollen
Who loses, getting the hints?
Speak up, oh my left out song!

Roopkathara ra ra ra ,
Chupakathara ra ra ra ,
The birth of a sunny day!
Manpahara ra ra ra ,
Friends ra ra ra,
Today open Altushe Canteen!

Dumb buildings, narrow ways, Myna bird's honest passion,
Said again, holding letter in hand on the window seal!
Who loses, getting the hints?
Speak Up, oh my left out song!

Roopkathara ra ra ra ,
Chupakathara ra ra ra ,
The birth of a sunny day!
Manpahara ra ra ra ,
Friends ra ra ra,
Today open Altushe Canteen!

In the sun, while playing with poetry, inside the pages of a cold sleepy book
Uncontrolled Tramcar, peanuts in closed fist, the vexing Seagull
In the storm, sand and dirt, all accumulated as expected!

Suddenly the town with old gold coins displayed under cover,
And blushing in floating happiness for having a series of stories to tell!
Who loses, getting the hints?
Speak up, oh my left out song!

Roopkathara ra ra ra ,
Chupakathara ra -ra ra ,
The birth of a sunny day!
Manapahara ra ra ra ,
Friends ra ra –ra,
Today open Altushe Canteen.

The song is a popular one. It is difficult to translate the song in another language word by word perfectly! As requested at above, please listen the original Bengali song sang by Shreya Ghoshal and leave me feedbacks if you like. While Roopkothara could be translated in English as Fairytales, Chupkathara could be translated as Silent Stories. The original Bengali version of the song has been composed by Shantanu Moitra.

"The rain begins with a single drop!

Manal Al Sharif, the woman activist from an unlikely country, ended her autobiography repeating the above noted Arabian saying that she had also quoted while she was being interviewed by CNN.

I am not sure how many of us have heard about this courageous woman who confronted bravely the fiercely patriarchal ways practiced by the people of the male dominated Saudi society to establish the rights of the women of the kingdom!

It does not matter to me whether the rain starts with a single drop or not but I believe that nothing positive happens until someone tries to start it to happen! Manal Al Sharif is an example of such a person who started something in a country where women are not considered free, where they are not equally treated like a man and where justice for women are almost sometimes nonexistence!

I finished reading Manal’s well written Autobiography, “Daring to Drive, a Saudi Woman’s Awakening”, a few days back, and since then I wanted to know more about this lady who is much younger than my own and who was only 5 years old when I had the opportunity to say prayers for the first time in my life in the year 1984, at the Grand Mosque of Mecca, the city where Manal was growing up with her siblings.

Manal never wanted to be either a hero or a revolutionary! However, she felt that someone among the Saudi Women should come forward to speak up loudly about their rights! She was not a professional activist. We can call her an accidental activist who stood up to a kingdom of men!
And she chose to drive a car as the starting point.

This is the time to visit the offbeat places located in this largest delta of the world where nature, during monsoon, remains constantly wet and cleans itself from dirt it accumulates during the dry seasons of the year! This Green country of mine, Bangladesh, forms the world’s largest delta with our magnificent rivers like Padma, Meghna and Jamuna. It is also one of the most fertile regions in the world, thus earning the nickname The Green Delta.

Here below the pictures of some of the offbeat places mentioned above are posted for viewing by those who are interested to view them!

Picture details:
1. A resort on the mighty river Padma uses monsoon as tourist attraction.
2. Ratargul in Sylhet is the only swamp forest in Bangladesh. With trees submerged in water, one needs to go 'hiking' through Ratargul by a boat.
3. Jhalakathi and Pirojpur have a number of floating markets. Traders come with their boats to sell guavas, among other fruits, and vegetables.
4. A boat ride at the scenic Lalakhal.
5. Chhera Dwip : The coral reefs stacked one upon the other creates the shore of this beach.
6. Nilgiri : The tallest mountain where the clouds come down to dance with the mortals.
7. Mymensingh: one of the most beautiful and idealistic towns of this country.
8. Birishiri : the natural beauty of white clay-made hills and tranquil turquoise that flows gently underneath.
9. Boat ride through the Ratargul swamp forest.
10. Destination home.

The Final Destination

Where is the end of the road?
What is at the end of the road?
So much desire, so much longing,
When does it all end?

From the bank of the ocean of uncertainty,
I see only darkness ahead of me
Is there a shore across the ocean?
Tell me, if there is a place of hope!

Sometimes, I think about this fallacy
Our thirst for a chimerical world has no real end.
It makes my heart sink,
We like a tattered boat drifting endlessly in the ocean
Heading for no where!
What is at the end of the road?
Where is the end of the road?

Dear readers, are we humans, really drifting endlessly in the ocean on a tattered boat having no final destination to anchor?
Tell me, if there is a place of hope?

Based on the Bengali song "Pother Shesh Kothay", written by Nobel Laureate poet R N Tagore.
