A New Approach to detect ET

A New approach to detect an Intelligent Alien Race

This blog is for those who like to read science fictions and news related to space science! Other readers may not find this item as interesting, yet, they are invited to go through it if they have time to do so! Those who like to post provocative stories calling them as jokes with a moral and those who like to read such jokes may not please venture to read this one as they may not find any thing funny or interesting here!

Now, let us proceed to read:

Could the space agencies including NASA uncover existence of life within our solar system within the current or next century?

The answer is, ‘yes, they can if they work together!’

It is reported that they have taken impressive steps toward uncovering primitive, microbial life forms within our solar system!
They are also trying to detect an intelligent, advanced alien race that could turn our entire way of life upside down!! However, until now, the prospects of locating intelligent ET have been slim!

Yet, large numbers of people have reasons to believe that humans could detect both types of life forms (primitive as well advanced alien race) within the current or within the first quarter of next century latest if they remain peaceful and if they do not kill each other on various pretexts!

We may examine now to ascertain what the modern astrophysicists are doing to reach the coveted goal, especially in respect of finding advanced alien race!

Two of these astrophysicists have recently developed a radical new approach in the search for intelligent alien life, and they say it could help us discover signals from an advanced alien race -- if any exist -- within the next 70 years.

If it is proved correct, then our grand or great grand will be the first to welcome the aliens to our blue planet.

The new approach to detect ET is unique because instead of looking at how humans might detect extraterrestrials, the researchers studied how extraterrestrials might discover us.
We must not be surprised if the aliens might already know the existence of Earth containing life, and they're attempting to contact us right now.

It is impossible to know what the potential alien scientists could be thinking but it can be safely said that “when it comes to the search of distant Planets, the options are very limited by the geometry of space!”

The two astrophysicists, Rene Heller, of Max Planck Institute for Solar System and Ralph Pudritz of McMaster University mapped out a narrow band in the night sky where signals from the intelligent extraterrestrials could be picked up easily!

"The key point of this strategy is that it confines the search area to a very small part of the sky," Heller said in a press release, "As a consequence, it might take us less than a human life span [about 70 years] to find out whether or not there are extraterrestrial astronomers who have found the Earth. (See the diagram "Earth's Transit Zone’ below).

Pull her up, oh my Lord.

Light the Auspicious Lamp. Pull her up from muddy water, oh my Lord!
Hold her tight. She must not sink in mud. Bring her back to light, Oh my Lord!

Auspicious lamp you light.
In darkness, my eyes you fill with light,
Oh Lord.

Yet, those who don’t believe in you
Pardon them too right.
Oh Lord.

It is your light that makes sun shine everyday.
Make them believe,
You can bloom flower even on stony bay.
My arid life you shower with your mercy- kind.
Oh Lord.

What is her fault that she’s born in muddy water?
With your grace, as lotus you make to bloom her.
If I wander on wrong paths, hold my hand tight.
Oh Lord.

Not a Backup Plan

To Whom It May Concern:

Could you please recollect that few days back you called him an imperfect creation of God when he asked you to tell him why you always consider him as a standby for someone you like and wish to establish some sort of relationship with that person!

He knows that he is not perfect. He is sure that no one in this world has yet been created as one hundred percent perfect by God for reasons best known to HIM! None of God’s creations could be called perfect. Even the Satan is not perfect! May be, HE did not like to make any of HIS creations perfect for obvious reason! Does it make sense to create a competitor?

Please always remember that the shortcomings of your friend are his assets. He is neither the best in the world nor the worst in the world! He is what he is! He does not claim himself either to be one of the the richest or the smartest person you know. He does not also claim himself as handsome! He is what he is and he feels proud of being so!

Someone from your recent friends may have said you something about being knocked up; and someone may have reminded you to do some thing very funny such as .......! You may, therefore, feel free to do whatever you like to do to satisfy them!

However, always remember that these friends are here for enjoying a joyous season with you: they are not here for a permanent reason!!

It is up to you to decide how to get out of the situation which is your own creation! Because your friend has made it clear to you that he is neither a backup plan nor a second choice.

A visitor will be simply amazed to see the varieties of Bamboos planted there while walking through the garden!

You may stand erect in complete amazement in front of a bush finding a bamboo that has surrounded itself with thorny vines.

If you ask any one working in this garden about the purpose for which this kind of bamboo is used, he will simply look at you first and then explain politely that if anyone plant this kind of Bamboo around his home, then he would not have to erect wall or other kind of fence to make the compound as impregnable as fort.

Celebrating Life on the first day of Spring!

I guess that those who have read my last blog on International Mother Language Day are now aware of that spring has since arrived in my country on the 13th February last. The arrival of the king of all seasons has since been greeted with a profusion of flowers, poetry, songs and dances as usual.

The capital city has since worn a festive look from the first day of Falgun and the citizens are visiting places from early morning to midnight to enjoy the cultural programs organized by different cultural organizations across the city.

As said earlier, I have since uploaded ten pictures of the spring festivals now being held everyday throughout my country for the visitors to view!

Girls in yellow-ochre saris adorned themselves on the first day of spring with floral ornaments and boys in colorful Punjabi, could be seen in the pictures!

It is needless to mention here that our psyche, poised as it always is for celebrating life, with the vibrancy of spring, made people come out in their thousands on the streets, as usual, this year also!

"Never was so much owed by so many to so few"

Spring has since arrived here in my beloved country.

It came day before yesterday--- on the 13th day of the month of February, 2016.

According to Bengali calendar, it was the first day of the Bengali month Falgun!

Every year, we remember the month with sadness and also pray for the departed souls of the university students shot dead point blank by the Pakistani beasts when they were coming out from the university compound one by one to stage a peaceful demonstration for the recognition of Bangla ( Bengali) as one of the two national languages of the then Pakistan.

We call the day as Martyrs' Day (Shôhid Dibôs).

The students were killed on 21st February, 1952 in and around the University of Dhaka and Dhaka Medical College.

Some of them were shot dead cold blooded in front of the High court by the gun hungry Pakistani Army men lead by the butcher Ayub Khan who subsequently became the ruler of Pakistan by staging a coup.

The day is now a national day of Bangladesh to commemorate protests and sacrifices to protect Bengali as a national language during Bengali Language Movement of 1952.

This day is also a public holiday in Bangladesh.

UNESCO decided to observe 21 February as International Mother Language Day.

The UNESCO General Conference took a decision to that effect on 17 November 1999 when it unanimously adopted a draft resolution submitted by Bangladesh and co-sponsored and supported by 28 other countries.

Here bellow. some of the pictures showing how the day is remembered and celebrated by our young and old, are uploaded for my readers to view.

They can learn more if they consult the Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, or many other publications that were published on the sad event, specially, how the dead bodies of the Martyr students were removed from the Dhaka Medical college morgue at night, and dumped in the graves by the soldiers Of Ayub Khan—the subsequent self styled Field Marshall of the Pakistani Armed Forces!

The brutal actions subsequently turned out to be devastating for Pakistan.

They were thrown out of Bangladesh In the year 1971.

More than Ninety thousands of these Pakistani army personnel along with their Officers had to pass time in Indian camps after Bangladesh was liberated by our Freedom Fighters with the active help of our neighbor India.

Sunken gold coins worth millions of dollars

Those coins have been down there long.

The mighty Atlantic Ocean could not swallow the treasure as was believed so long! Somewhere in the ocean, there is a bounty of sunken gold worth millions of dollars waiting to be found and finally raised to the surface!

It is therefore not lost forever!!

Although, many of the treasure hunters have tried to find the exact location where the passenger ship that carried the treasure sank, only one such team knows where it rests now on the ocean floor. However, Can the team retrieve the treasure from the bottom of the ocean to the surface?

The team leader, Elder believes that this can be done. To do so, the treasure hunter’s team will require ingenuity, drive... and a large mechanical claw.

More than 156 years ago from this day, 100 miles off the shore of the town of Gloucester, Massachusetts, one of the world’s biggest ocean going ship, SS Connaught, slowly began to fill with water.
By sheer luck, the passengers were rescued, but the ship sank along with millions of dollars’ worth of gold coins-- stored in its vault, to the bottom of the ocean.

What sort of ship was Connaught?

Connaught was a mighty ship---“370ft (113m) long – and the second largest steamer in the world at the time, outsized only by Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s gargantuan SS Great Eastern.

A side-wheel steamer, the Connaught would traverse the North Atlantic. She’d bring emigrants to the New World, deliver mail and, of course, ferry wealthy passengers back and forth in luxury.

Launched at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England, on 21 April 1860, within months the Connaught had completed her maiden voyage.
She would never complete her second.”

The SS Connaught was sunk by a fire.

On the fateful day, the ill-fated ship was just over a hundred miles from Boston, her next port of call. The sailors, working in the engine room of the ship discovered a leak – water was pouring into the hull. “

The Connaught was soon listing.

Captain Leitch shouted orders to man the pumps, steer the vessel, and eventually to shut the engines off before the ship could be righted again. When she was, the situation seemed manageable.”

But then a fire had broken out. No-one seems to know how it began. Buckets of water could not halt the blaze.

A tiny trade boat called the Minnie Schiffer could rescue passengers from the stricken ship by sheer luck.

The passengers of the great ship, now on board of the tiny trade ship, could see the burning ship slowly going under the waves of mighty ocean for good!

Eldred’s expedition boat, now anchored at Gloucester, has all the required equipment such as winches, cables, and an underwater robot crammed on its deck! Eldred and his team are now almost ready for the expedition to bring the glittering coins out of the dark region of the ship wreck now resting on the bottom of the ocean.

It is expected that Eldred and his team would succeed to retrieve the gold from the bottom of the ocean and thereby will become some of treasure-hunting’s great pioneers.

It is ready for inauguration!

It is not on the surface of Earth.

Museo Atlántico-The Atlantic Museum is located on the ocean bed!

It is going to be the first underwater art museum of Europe and the Atlantic Ocean and could be found 45 feet below the surface, rather under the sea, off the coast of Lanzarote, Spain.

Two weeks from now, on February 25, the museum will open its doors to snorkelers and divers.

If you are a underwater diver, then you must strap into your scuba gear to visit this museum. This museum is worth visiting by specially those who like to visit underwater world.

It is the latest project of underwater sculptor James deCaires Taylor.

He is known for focusing on environmental and conservational themes in his work.
The most eye catching installations in this museum are a hybrid cactus-man, a depiction of the Syrian refugee crisis and an underground botanical garden.

Those who are not likely to travel to Spain now or ever, may view here bellow the photos of some of the sculptures installed there!

These sculptures are built from pH-neutral marine cement and are meant to attract marine life.

Should Poachers Be Shot on Sight?

question of legality and ethics

Kenya has finally taken a stand to save its vulnerable rhinos from being killed by the poachers for their horns. May be some of us may question the method being applied to do the job efficiently.

Those who are entrusted to save the rhinos are known to shoot first the poachers before asking them questions!

They do not arrest the poachers now!

They simply shoot them to kill.
They have killed 19 so far! These poachers were shot dead, in split-second ambushes during which their victims probably never knew what hit them.

Initially Kenya was the home of around two hundred thousands Rhinos---both white and black!
The poachers could then kill these myopic animals at ease for their horns and as a result the number come down to around 200 in the eighties.
However, the number of Rhinos increased to around 600 due to establishment of sanctuaries.
Kenya relocated its vulnerable rhinos, both white and black, from 1984 onward in “The Lewa and Borana conservancies --145 sq miles of windswept former cattle country to save them from the poachers.
But the effort did not bring the desired result as the poachers found the Rhinos in the sanctuaries where they were relocated!

The country lost 17 from a population of 90 Rhinos as the guards of these sanctuaries were outgunned and outwitted by the poachers!

Kenya then changed the entire plan that was being followed by the country to save the Rhinos.
They raised an SAS-trained private army to protect the Rhinos from the poachers.
These guards operate in four-man teams comprising a sniper, two riflemen, and a signaler.
The teams also got night vision gear and digital radios! The poachers are no match for the heavily armed and motivated guards now!

The teams monitor 102 rhinos now.

However, the poachers haven't given up. Kenya lost just one Rhino, shot in July. It may be mentioned here that this private army has since been given the right to use lethal force by enrolling them as Kenya police reservists.

Though the Kenyan Rhinos seem to be safe for the time being, people may raise the question of legality and ethics on such practice of shooting poachers on sight!!

Have you anything to say on these points?
