I wonder how could an Artist (painter) start a world war which caused so many deaths and destruction throughout the world !!!! Hope to read the views of my readers on the subject since posted here.

A 1914 watercolour by Adolf Hitler to be auctioned on Saturday could fetch up to 50,000 euros ($62,685) given strong global interest, a German auction house chief said on Tuesday.

Auctioneer Kathrin Weidler said the painting entitled "Standesamt und Altes Rathaus Muenchen" (Civil Registry Office and Old Town Hall of Munich) is one of about 2,000 works Hitler painted from about 1905 to 1920 as a struggling young artist.

Asked about criticism that it is tasteless to auction the Nazi dictator's works, generally considered to be of limited artistic merit, she said complaints should be addressed to the sellers - an unidentified pair of German sisters in their 70s.

"Those who want to get worked up about this should just go ahead and get worked up about it," Weidler told Reuters at her Weidler Auction House in Nuremberg, where Hitler held mass Nazi party rallies from 1933 to 1938.

"They should take it up with the city of Nuremberg or with those who preserved it. It's an historical document."

Hitler wrote in his autobiography "Mein Kampf" that his hopes as a young man of becoming an artist were dashed by his repeated rejection by Vienna's Academy of Fine Arts.

"We've had inquiries so far from four continents and the interest in this particular painting appears to be quite high," Weidler said. "The interest has been high from America, Japan and across Asia. I don't know if all these bidders will actually come to the showroom in person. It's possible but the last time we had a painting from this artist, that didn't happen

Five other Hitler paintings previously auctioned fetched as much as 80,000 euros while others went for just 5,000.

"It's impossible to say how much it'll go for - anything from a few thousand to something around 50,000 euros," she said. The minimum bid has been set at 4,500 euros and 10 percent of the earnings are to be donated to charity.

Weidler said the original handwritten bill dated Sept. 25, 1916 came with the painting and was a rarity for Hitler's art ( see the uploaded picture of the handwritten bill said to be original).

But that has raised doubt among critics about the painting's provenance. They recall how hoaxer Konrad Kujau used supposed certifications of authenticity to trick some historians when he marketed what proved to be bogus "Hitler's Diaries" in 1983.

"The Culture of Bangladesh refers to the way of life of the people of Bangladesh. The land, the rivers, and the lives of the Bengali people formed a rich heritage with marked differences from neighbouring regions. It has evolved over the centuries and encompasses the cultural diversity of several social groups of Bangladesh. The Bengal Renaissance of the 19th and early 20th centuries, noted Bengali writers, saints, authors, scientists, researchers, thinkers, music composers, painters, and film-makers have played a significant role in the development of Bengali culture. The Bengal Renaissance contained the seeds of a nascent political Indian nationalism and was the precursor in many ways to modern Indian artistic and cultural expression. The culture of Bangladesh is composite and over the centuries has assimilated influences of Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity. It is manifested in various forms, including music, dance, and drama; art and craft; folklore and folktale; languages and literature; philosophy and religion; festivals and celebrations; as well as in a distinct cuisine and culinary tradition."

Bangladesh Is a secular country though Islam is the official religion in Bangladesh and is practiced by some 87 percent of the country's inhabitants. Other religions that are active in Bangladesh include Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism, Animism and Tribal belief systems.
The Islamic religion in Bangladesh plays a large role in everyday life of the people as is evidenced in the celebration of festivals such as Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-e-Miladunnabi, Muharram and others.
Followers of the Hindu religion in Bangladesh amount to around 11% of the country's population. Hindu temples can be found scattered throughout the country. Making up 0,5 to 1% of the population are followers of the Theravada school of Buddhism, most of whom reside in the Chittagong Hills. Christians make up another 1% of Bangladesh's population. The majority are part of the Roman Catholic Church. Another prominent church is the Church of Bangladesh, a united church formed by several protestant churches. Tribes in the Chittagong Hills have formed their own religion, a blending of Buddhism and tribal rituals.
Religious tolerance is promoted in the laws of Bangladesh. People practicing faiths different than Islam, could celebrate festivals as permissible according to their religions. The Muslims gladly participate in such festivals.
Today, some pictures of Hindu and Buddhist religious festivals can be viewed on this blog page of mine. The pictures of Christian and Muslim religious festivals will follow soon.

The National Geographic, a Washington based Magazine. has named Wasfia Nazreen an adventurer of the year 2014-15.

Congratulations, Wasfia Nazreen. We feel proud of you.

Simultaneously, we feel sorry for those liars, specially a self styled so called researcher and reportedly a melon grower, who has since been trying to spread lies on this great site, for reasons best known to him, about our country mentioning how we treat our women here ! Hope, he would now feel like reading more about this country and its people in stead of indulging in calling someone names on this great site in a most indecent manner!!

A total of 10 people in as many categories have been named in the list with Wasfia earning the prestige in the activist category.

In her profile, the magazine hailed her commitment to empowering women and girls in Bangladesh

She is the second Bangladeshi woman to conquer the Mount Everest. She set foot atop the world's highest peak on May 26, 2012.

She was the first Bangladeshi to summit Aconcagua, South America's highest peak; Denali, North America's highest peak; Mt Elbrus, Europe's highest mountain; and Vinson Massif, Antarctica's highest point.

In 2011, Wasfia, also a social-worker and writer, had taken up the challenge of scaling the highest mountains of each of the seven continents in celebration of 40 years of independence of Bangladesh and women progress. She has successfully completed the mission in six continents

She now plans to summit the seventh -- Oceania's Carstensz Pyramid -- late this month, according to the magazine.
She has recently launched the Ösel Foundation, aimed at educating marginalized young women and getting them into the outdoors.

You Made Me Cry

Fimour,

You made me cry
With unbearable touch of your love
Intense agony of my doting heart
Stirs up my emotion.
You made me cry.

To meet you beloved
I will go where no one has gone before
To meet you beloved
The rocky trail leading to your place
Will hurt my bare feet.
You made me cry.

My soul is filled with adoring melody
Tears are rolling down from my eyes
Sweetness of tormenting passion
Left me mystified
I know my dear, you will rob all of me
Yet you won't let me free
I am bonded with your love
I am enslaved in your charm
You made me cry.
