Farewell Song

Fimour, I told you before that this poem is my most favorite one. The story-line is ultramodern - the lovers decide to stay apart so that the daily grind of life does not dilute their love. This is the English translation of the poem written in Bengali by Rabindranath Tagore. Hope, all of you who like to read poems would also like this one too.

Hush! Listen to the wheels of Time -
his chariot rushes invisible
pulsating in the heart of eternity
crushing under wheel the despairing blackness
from whose fractured heart
spring stars like teardrops.
O my friend,
that onrush of Time
ensnared and lifted me onto his chariot
on the path of reckless adventure
far, far from you
far - whirling beyond countless deaths
far - to this sunrise-kissed mountain peak
and behind us, flapping in the wind
trailing in the vortex of the chariot
traces of my name, me, myself.
Today
across the path of no return
if you catch a glimpse from afar
you will know me not.
Farewell, my friend, farewell.
One day when at leisure,
spring wind in your hair,
a sigh rising from distant nights of despair --
the tears of the fallen lily will fracture the sky --

The Lost Art Of Writing Letters!

May I ask all some frivolous questions?
Why we no more write letters?
Why we like to communicate with each other now mostly through e-mails or by Cell phones? In addition, could we express ourselves clearly, as we could have done in the past by writing each other letters?
Why we do not like to communicate with each other in the way our parents and ancestors did last 2000 years??
Do we agree that various persons for various reasons could misuse the modern communication facilities ?
Do we not missing personal touch when we use these facilities to communicate emotional inner thoughts.
A friend of mine who is also a member of this site told me some months back about receiving a long e-mail from a very senior member of the site who frequently boasts mostly to new members about his marrying some one from the site. He also repeats like a pet bird how deeply these two love each other. However, the e-mail received by my friend from this man told her a different story. The man clearly expressed his fascination for a woman (my friend being one such lady of mixed origin from an island) having tanned skin. My friend considered this e-mail as not only misleading but also a misuse of the e-mail facility available to us. My friend asked me whether I do think that old-fashioned letter writing was better than the current instant methods of expressing so called love. She also pointed out to me that the instant method to communicate emotion might finish an existing relation very quickly! She mentioned the message as an example of this type of unwanted situation! I could not answer my friend correctly so far and therefore I leave these questions to my readers for answers if there are any! May be some day We shall be able to tell more about this particular case!!
Could anyone tell me what were the virtues of old fashioned letter- writing?
Lastly, could anyone tell the future of human communication??

Bangladesh was listed by Lonely Planet in 2011 as the "best value destination".
Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. It is also the largest city of the country. More than 15 Million people live in Dhaka which is a mega city now by its own right.
"The history of Dhaka begins with the existence of urbanized settlements in the area that is now Dhaka dating from the 7th century CE. The city area was ruled by the Buddhist kingdom of Kamarupa before passing to the control of the Sena dynasty in the 9th century CE. After the Sena dynasty, Dhaka was successively ruled by the Turkic and Afghan governors descending from the Delhi Sultanate before the arrival of the Mughals in 1608. After Mughals, British ruled the region for over 150 years until the independence of India. In 1947, Dhaka became the capital of the East Bengal province under the dominion of Pakistan. After the independence of Bangladesh in 1971, Dhaka became the capital of the new born country."

20 Most Peaceful Countries In The World !

Which country tops the list of the most peaceful countries on our planet Earth? The answer is Denmark. The country is always a safe place to live. Danish people lived peacefully even when Denmark was under occupation of Nazi Germany. They did not fight the occupiers for obvious reason! They knew that others would do the fighting on their behalf. Danish People always like to focus on economic matters. The never involve themselves in useless armed conflicts! I like Danish people very much. They are very friendly, open and helpful. I have never been to Denmark, but have cultivated friendship with Danish people while living in Hamburg. long time ago!

Many of us would not believe that Norway is the second most peaceful countries in the World. It may be due to the fact that Anders Behring Britvik, the mass murderer, lives in Norway!! However, according to GPI (Global Peace Index), Norway is a safe country to live. It is also a friendly country to stay. Since prehistoric days, Norway welcomed new settlers to come and stay with them in harmony and peace.
However, despite proclaiming neutrality during World War II, Nazi Germany invaded Norway. During the occupation, Norwegians built a resistance movement which fought the Nazi occupation forces with both civil disobedience and armed resistance.
Norway is the country with the highest level of human development in the globe. Peace has been placed in Norway at the forefront of everything It is one of the top priorities of this great country

Even a tiny island located in the Indian Ocean can achieve the distinction of being the 20th most peaceful countries in the world if everything goes well for it. Yes, I am speaking about Mauritius where my friend lives. According to the GPI Report 2013, Mauritius is one of the most peaceful nations on Earth and ranked as the most peaceful country in Africa.
