1) Elephant, Encyclopedic English Dictionary, Two marble Eggs, Elf
The lady's name is Eva. LOL

2) Emotions reflecting wooden figurine
We found it years ago an Estate , and I have mixed feelings
when I this figure. I keep it on a shelve in a corner where it is hidden.

3) Elderberries in my garden in Germany and Elder-flower tea

Elder is commonly found growing in woodlands and hedgerows. The blue-black berries and cream-white flowers of the elder plant are used for medicinal purposes.
Elderberries are naturally rich in vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B6, iron and potassium, among several other essential nutrients. Health benefits of the elder plant include naturally sinus issues, nerve pain, inflammation, chronic fatigue, allergies, constipation and is effective in controlling influenza symptoms.
Historians trace its healing abilities back to Hippocrates, the ancient Greek, known as the "father of medicine." This natural remedy goes way back, which is, why it's known one of the top antiviral herbs on the planet.

When we had school holidays, my parents always planned a one day excursion to the Teutoburg Forest about 20 miles away from home. It was an absolute highlight. The planning before was exciting, because that wooded area has many historically interesting places and decisions had to be made. One time we decided for the "Externsteine" , a sandstone rock formation that consists of several tall impressive pillars. It was a sacred site for many tribes, the pagan Saxons celebrated summer solstice there. As a I was not interested in its ancient history and that the Germans had defeated the Romans in the Teutoburg Forest, but that we had enough sandwiches, apples, juice and candy. LOL And, maybe, there was the chance for some ice cream. The excursion started with a ride on the tram. Dad had the task that we walked the right direction and he had fun acting as though we got lost. We talked a lot and laughed, and I got ice cream in the end.

Picture 1)

Dulcimer - This instrument was made by Gene and is easier to play
than a banjo, I find.

Picture 2)

Dream Catcher - Dream Catchers were originally made by American Indians.
They are regarded as good luck charms and are thought to literally catch nightmares,
letting positive dreams enter the subconscious mind of a sleeping person.

Picture 3)

Dishes - This set of dishes for 8 People we gave to one of Gene's granddaughters when she married, with the idea that the people might occasionally cherish the old-fashioned culture of laying the table on special events. Unfortunately the couple
divorced a year later.........

I am late, but it is still Friday! LOL

Photos:

1) Cats we bought at an estate sale.

2) A cleft Gene made from a left over piece of cherry wood.

3) to 8 ) Castle Katz (Cat) in Saint Goarshausen high above the River Rhine.

On both sides of the river there are many castles, most are refurbished
and open for visitors. On one side of a tower we saw a wooden staircase.
We walked up to the top to find out what was behind the door at the end.
When we opened the door, we were welcomed by a group of men who
enjoyed their after work happy hour with bottles of beer in the castle's armory.
Gene, the American, had to sit at the top of the table with one of the spiked helmets
on his head which were stored on an open shelve on the wall. LOL We had a great
time and learned a lot about the history of Castle Cat.....

It is a beautiful Sunday morning, and after my first cup of coffee I took a walk around the house to make sure that all the spring flowers are still happy and healthy and to take some photos.
My sent me a photo of our human "offshoot" that's full of energy, enjoying the rocket I years ago had bought for my granddaughter, the little guy's mom. It' s been stored in my garage for years..... My family will fill my home with life to the end of this month and and celebrate Fredi's 2nd birthday there.

Again I cannot celebrate Easter with my family at my home in Germany. I used to fill little nests or baskets, and they had to find them in the garden. That had become a tradition even when they weren't little anymore, had partners who enjoyed looking for a surprise. LOL This year l would have loved watching my little great-grandson looking under bushes and in flower beds for Easter eggs...... They are all at my home for a week, and I am "an ocean" away! Thanks to online services I sent them my love with flowers and cakes.........
