I wish to Thank EVERYONE who has left a comment about my work both with the windchimes and my poetry.
I've been online for a great number of years. Made some good Friends, though sadly I have lost contact with many of them.
You Kind Folk have warmed my heart. You've Welcomed me and made me Exceedingly Glad that I chose to join this site. Somehow,, Thank You doesn't seem to be enough but it's all I know to say.
I will continue draw inspiration from the Kind words and endeavor to show my Appreciation to you ALL.
May God grant you the Desires of your Heart and Keep you safe in His Loving arms.

DISCLAIMER: What I am about to post is NOT intended to solicit any Special Recognition or a "pat on the back". It is merely for information purposes. As the saying goes,, "Forewarned is Forearmed". If you wish to leave a comment, By all means do so,, just be nice,, I won't ask anymore than that,,, If not,, that's ok too.
Things have changed since I first posted this so I've made a few changes.

I am the care taker of my Mother-in-Law who is a Special Needs Adult
The Mother-in-Law for the most part is fairly self-sufficient. She can dress and bath herself. She can and does do lite house keeping such as washing the dishes, sweeping and mopping the floors and the laundry, ( though she does mix the colors). She suffers with Epilepsy. She can read very little and does not drive as that is too complicated for her to understand. She's also O.C.D. I cannot leave my coffee cup n the kitchen table empty. If I just go to the restroom and leave the cup empty, by the time I get back, she has moved it to the coffee pot. If we were to use glassware, the second you take the last bite off the plate, she's ready t o pick it up to be washed. Her O.C.D. is a minor inconvenience, I'm used to it.
The Mother -in-Law has 3 sons. One Lives out in West Texas somewhere. One Lives in Missouri, and the third, God Himself only knows where he's at and he has stated that he WON"T live with her again. As for the other two, she doesn't want to live with them. The one in Missouri "Brow beat" her so bad when she lived with him and I'm still dealing with that and that was over 10 years ago.
None of the afore mentioned are really willing to deal with my Mother-in-law, so that only leaves me.
So,, you're probably wondering WHY I haven't placed the Mother-in-Law in a Nursing Home,,, Answer,,, Money..
Her SSI represents 1/2 of the total income. I'm on Disability also
With out the income, I would have to sell everything I have right now and move into "Low Income Housing",, and I'm 11 years in on a 30 year Mortgage
Now,, to answer another question,, "If you have all this going on, WHY are you on this site?",, Connection with outside world. Connection to people with whom I can talk to and have a decent conversation with.
I cannot, in good conscience, nor will I ask ANYONE to come into this if they have never been exposed, one way or another, to Special Needs people before,, It just wouldn't be fair to them.
So,,,, There you have it,,, My life as it is at this moment

My Father's House

This one I wrote after visiting my Dad's old place. I spent many a Christmas there, went fishing in the pond that is located behind the house. My Grandfather built the house and lived there until his death. I had even lived in the house myself on a couple of occasions after I was grown.
At the time I wrote this, vandals had drawn graffiti on several places. It hit me hard to see the place in such shape.

I saw my Father's house today,
I cried at what it had to say.
" I'm made with wood and nail.
I've weathered rain , wind and hail.
Joy and laughter once filled my halls.
Times good and bad, I withstood it all.
I was built with Love and Pride,
I kept safe and warm all who dwelled inside.
My halls are empty now, no voices do I hear,
No one hears me cry, no one sees my tear.
A home and refuge have I been,
Those days are gone, never to return again."
In my heart I had heard,
What the house had said, every tearful word.
Years past and days gone by,
For precious memories, Sorrowed tears I cried.
With tearful eyes I walked away,
For I knew not what to say.
Fields once green and lush,
Now covered with briar and brush.
Timbers dry and windows grey,,,
I saw my Father's house today.

I Am A Warrior

This was written shortly after "". It is dedicated to the Men and Women of the Military and First Responders. Both have been a major part of my family. My Dad, Step-Dad, Uncle and Brother all served in the Military, An Uncle, Brother-in-Law and Cousin were in Law Enforcement.
To those who have served,,,, Thank You. If you fought for and with The US,,,
Thank You. To the Family's of those who served,,, Thank You.

I am a Warrior,
I fight not for glory or fame,
For they are momentary.
I fight for those who can't.
I fight for Justice
I fight for the oppressed and down trodden,
And If I should lose my Life for these just causes,
I have no regrets,
For I serve to protect the Innocent.
It matters not where or when,
For evil and danger know no boundaries.
Be it fire, flood or the threat of tyranny,
I will not flee.
Justice is my Weapon, Faith my Shield, Hope my Armor
Cry not at my passing
For it was my Honor to fight for you.
Shed not tears of sorrow,
But tears of Joy
For now,,,,,,,,,,,, I stand with God.

If you are, have been, or know of, some who is, a Veteran, then with my permission and Blessing, along with my Gratitude,, Pass this on to them.
