I have been working on decluttering my home by getting rid of stuff and not allowing new stuff in. I in Atlanta for two weeks when I got a call from my neighbor who babysitting my plants. I also her for housecleaning.

She called me to let me know that the refrigerator light out. I told her that I would deal with it when I got back and order one from Amazon.

When I got home yesterday. Yikes, the refrigerator unplugged. The light fine. I had to clear out everything. My neighbor inadvertly unplugged it. I told her not to worry, I needed to clear it and get rid of the old stuff anyway.

Luckily the Blueberry/Pomegranate that arrived from Amazon well insulated and winter on the horizon helped.

When I took the plane to Atlanta to visit my 0lder s0n and his family last week, I brought three pair of reading glasses. 0ne pair broke and I misplaced the other tw0. I went to the D0LLAR TREE and purchased three more. I returned to my s0n's home and found the other tw0. I always at least three pair of reading glasses every time I go DOLLAR TREE because I am always misplacing or breaking them.

Some people drink because they are alcoholic. Others DON'T drink because they are alcoholic. I chose the latter and keeps me out of a lot of trouble. LXIV in a few weeks.

When I was working at Sam's Club, a customer approached me telling me that she didn't drink and what would be a good brand of wine to give her boss for Christmas. Dah! I don't a clue. Menage A Trois - pretty bottle, interesting . I hope her boss has a sense of humor and likes it

astrology
a belt of the heavens within about 8° either side of the ecliptic, including all apparent positions of the sun, moon, and most familiar planets. It is divided into twelve equal divisions or signs (Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces).

The ephemeris is the book used by Astrologers with a table of the placement for the planets and signs. When I started in Astrology as a , we used the ephemeris to hand draw the charts. Now it's done by computer.

I wanted to do a photo on zOOm with our Quaker First Day meetings. We haven't met in person since the pandemic began. However, I could not get on last Sunday. So this morning. I opened it up and I was the only on on there. I suddenly realized that it's Friday not Sunday.

DAH!!!

I had plans Biloxi and Atlanta afterwards but realities and life on life's terms had other plans. So I took the plane to Atlanta. The itinerary is Lewisburg to Washington D.C. to Atlanta with 45 minutes to each connecting flight.

I got a message from my older s0n, Would I like to join him in his running club that night? He advised me that there were some folks walking the route. Yeah Right! He hadn't seen me in a few years. I now walk with a four prong cane. When I got off the plane, it was strongly suggested that I get to the connecting flight via wheelchair. It was humbling but I would have never made the connecting flights by foot. I have to be grateful.

I spent the first day with abdominal pains. I have a temperamental digestive system and had surgery in February. The next day, my problematic hip was in really bad pain. There is a surgical consultation later this month. The next day, I caught my grands0ns common cold and the medication made me sleep two day.

Gadz00ks! My mind wants run, dance, hike, and be a wild woman. My body says "You've got be kidding!" Gracefully surrendering the things of youth? Bah Humbug!

I send my grands0n gifts from Granny West Virginia. I was hoping he would not be calling me "Grandma." My mother was Grandma and that's what my s0n called her. Thus my s0n taught his s0n me Grandma.

We were telling jokes and I called him a silly b0y. He called me a silly Grandma. He says it so cute that my heart melted. I don't care what he calls me.

Yesterday evening, we were playing chess with his Dad giving him lots of advice. It turns out that I am a much better chess player than I thought I was. I am telling the grands0n, I want YOU in checkmate. He tells me, I want GRANDMA in checkmate. Soon, he lost interest in the game. He's only F0UR years . My s0n took over the game. GRANDMA went into Checkmate.

Last week was X'Mas = This week is the Pagan counterpart YULE!!!! The Christmas Tree is actually a carryover of the pagan tradition of the Yule Tree

When my b0ys were youngsters, we would them to the other parent for Christmas and do our celebration on Yule. It worked out magnificently. I would even take the day off work. Sometimes I will actually presents on January VII which is technical Old Christmas.

In past times, Christmas was a season versus just one day thus the XII days of Christmas. In current times, my holidays are usually quiet, except for Halloween aka Samhain. I like being a wild old crone on eve before All Saints Day!!!!

X-Mas was the first thing that came to mind. I met Grumpy X-Mas of 1990 at a PWP Dinner. We were married in 1995. He had his first heart attack X-Mas of 1995.

One of the conflicts in our marriage was "Which household do the spend X-Mas. He was very traditional trying to keep the presents a mystery until X-mas Morning while I would take the b0ys into the store and let them pick out their presents.

There came a point where we agreed to let the b0ys celebrate the holiday with the other parent while we did the celebration for them on Yule. We would go visit the local Chinese Restaurant on X-Mas Morning .

This is a tradition that my younger s0n and I maintain.

My younger s0n is technically a William although we usually call him Billy. He was born in California but we moves to West Virginia when he was a youngster. He adapted to the culture. My s0n walks and talks like a Mountain William aka Hillbilly aka Mountaineer. Billy is a THIRD generation William on BOTH sides of his family. Both Grandfathers, his father and my brother are all Williams.

There is also the William Penn House in Washington DC which is now called the Friends Place because of the Political Correct Movement. My opinion Bah Humbug!!!

When I stay at the William Penn House, I like strolling a few blocks to the Folger Theater for plays written by William Shakespeare.

Usually, I am a poll worker, protecting the integrity of the "Votes" I always do early voting so that I effectively do my job. I ran for city counsel in 20. I had to do a provisional ballet for myself because I was the Libertarian on the books.

Last year, I was in the Emergency Room and the doctor told me, Good News, You DON"T have Covid-19. Bad News, You are being ambulanced to Charleston, WV for emergency surgery. A week after I got home I got the for the vaccine. The last thing I needed was Covid-19. I opted to get the vaccine.

I have a former co-worker who spent three weeks in ICU and is very fortunate to finally make it home after Covid-19. Hospitals suck in the best of circumstances. Needles, monitors, tubes, and never getting to sleep. It could have been prevented with the Vaccine.

I grew up in a Military family and there is always a soft spot for Sgt. Dad. As youngsters, we used to salute him and shine his boots for him.

"I thought it was because she wanted be black like everyone else in church because maybe God liked black people better and one afternoon on the way from church, I asked her if God was black or white. A deep sigh, boy.....God's not black, he's not white, He's a spirit. Does he like black or white people better? He's a spirit, he loves people. What's a Spirit? A spirit is a spirit. What color is God's spirit? It doesn't have a color, she said. God is the color of water. Water doesn't have a color." quoted by James McBride - The Color of Water - A Black Man's Tribute His White Mother

Last week, I was at the Annual West Virginia Quaker Gathering. We always have a table for book exchanges. The John Grisham book immediately decided call my and go home with me. The Color of Water by James McBride was telling me take it home but I wavered between "maybe yes, maybe no, I'm not sure" but it eventually made it's way my luggage for the journey back Greenbrier County.

Later that evening, my good friend and roomie were discussing our fantastic finds at the book exchange table. She revealed that she had the conversation I did with The Color of Water but regretted that she opted not take it.

Voila!!!! She will be able take it her house at our next Book Club meeting. The book is about a black man's tribute his White Jewish mother. She converted Christianity Her husband became a minister, founded the New Brown Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York.

They wanted rent a building for a Church but the owner refused upon seeing the husband. The wife met the owner and signed the contract. He was a tad bit surprised when he saw who the Pastor and Congregation were.

The woman was disowned by her family and they even held Siva for her. (Seven day ritual for the dead) It appears that she had a higher purpose in the Black Community.

"I felt frustrated to live in a world that considers the color of your face an immediate political statement. It took years before I began to accept the fact that the nebulous "white man's world" wasn't as free as it looked; that class, luck, religion factored in well." quoted by James McBride - The Color of Water.

The year was MMXV - I was the program planner at Oakhurst - A women's recovery home. A group of women were coming in. Some were coming directly from jails while others came from shelters.

"Boy did I ever have plans for them."

I loaded them in the van and we headed for the Haunted Farm. Later one woman commented that she never had so much fun "Clean and Sober!" That was the lesson that I was trying to give them.

Fast forward to MMXIX. I applied for a job at the Haunted Farm as a ticket seller. They put me in costume and I ran the Head Toss Booth instead. The owner of the farm said that I was actually one of the best operators that they had. I have been on stage before but opted not to tell him the details.

The next year MMXX- COVID-19 reared it's ugly self. Travel plans, the WV State Fair, and the Haunted Farm were cancelled. Current times, MMXXI Covid-19 is still doing the nasty but the economy is opened up. I was able to sell tickets at the State Fair and now I am haunting the Haunted Farm.

I tell . Don't worry, those spooks are more afraid of you than you are them. If they try to scare you, say "BOO!" They will run. Those will be the runs running around the cornfield trying to scare folks in a few years.

I also brought my crystal ball and started telling fortunes. I told one woman that she would be running against Senator Manchin in a bid for Governor. She would win and her husband would be the First Gentleman of West Virginia.

I told one that she would be getting a very special present for X-mas delivered by her new pet Sasquatch.

One gentleman was really excited when I told him that Chippendale's was coming to the Greenbrier. He would be the lead dancer and come home with long underwear stuffed full of 0ne Hundred d0llar bills.

I do hope my Higher Power allows me to do some haunting before I cross over. I have a list of folks I totally to haunt. I hope that I will be able to raise havoc at Area 99 aka the local Wal-Mart. Ideal would be for Grumpy to come with me and he can operate the riding cart. He will be invisible. I'll throw stuff on the shelves and maybe mess with the registers.
