The best advice I heard came from my 12 Step Advisor's husband in a meeting. He said "If you get into an emotional involvement and it kicks your azzzzzzz,; Don't drink! Dah! Wisdom of the Sages that kept me out of trouble from that day forward.

40 years later, I have been though numerous heartbreaks but going off the wagon has never been an option. I plant sunflower seeds and write poetry instead. Although I am currently enjoying my own company and haven't met anyone that I would risk making my heart venerable with.

Last year, I was on Ancestry and decided to see where the last man that I ever got drunk over was residing. I found him in Arlington Cemetary.

I briefly pounder the possibility of giving him a visit and kicking his tombstone. Naw! Nevertheless, my next visit to Washington DC, I did take a trip to Arlington Cemetary. It would have been extremely difficult to kick the tombstone. It would require climbing a wall and if I had attempted it, a dozen soldiers would have dragged me out of the Cemetary and into the Stockade. A scenerio that I prefer to avoid.

He LIED about his age He was a Korean War Veteran along with my Father. He told me that he was 39 when he was actually three years younger than my Daddy. . .

Palin, Nugent, and the LOVE Hillary!!!

There are some in the media who report that Sarah Palin, Ted Nugent and Rock were mocking Hillary Clinton in front of her portrait. It actually looks like Ted is giving Hillary the Thumbs Up! The looks like he is rocking with excitement while Sarah is awed but sad because she will never be on that wall. The Reality is that they LOVE Hillary.

Last summer, I was working at the State Fair. There was a booth for Hillary Clinton and a booth for Donald Trump with a cardboard likeness of both. My friends in the Clinton booth took a picture of me next to Hillary with a Thumbs Up!

I was talking to my friends in the Clinton booth asking, "Do I DARE get my picture next to Drumft with a Thumbs Down or perhaps giving him Bunny Ears. It is soooooo tempting but disrespectful. A wise woman said that "when they go low, we go high!"

I meandered over to the Trump booth. One of the volunteers offered to take my picture next to Trump. I didn't give him Bunny Ears but he did get a Peace Sign.

West Virginia Becomes the 29th State to Allow Medical Marijuana Use

Yesterday West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice signed a bill that makes his state the 29th to allow medical use of marijuana. West Virginia is the sixth state to legalize medical marijuana in the last year and the third (along with Ohio and Pennsylvania) to do so through the legislature. In the other three states—Arkansas, Florida, and North Dakota—voters approved ballot initiatives authorizing medical marijuana last November.

Ironically, West Virginia is an ideal place to grow marijuana with it's thick forest, mountains, hard to find places and the law willing to look the other way for a price. - in fact there are quite a few not quite legal marijuana farms operating in West Virginia.

So why not make it legal and capitalize on it.

I am a long time 12 Stepper and have no intentions of smoking marijuana - legal or otherwise but I do have a friend with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) who can now find relief LEGALLY.

Personally, I am opposed to Drug Laws - they provide financial security for lawyers and jailers while doing nothing to help the addict. Just my not so humble opinion.

Last year I went to Atlanta for a Grant Writing Class. My had recently purchased a house in Stone Mountain thus I had to rent a car. I am directionally challenged in the best of circumstances and carry my GPS when I plan to rent a car. The car I rented in Texas already had a built in GPS so I assumed the car in Atlanta would also have a GPS. I assumed wrong. My told me that the phone has a GPS. The problem is that the phone was picking up on every internet signal and getting confused.

So on the last day of the class, I parked in the wrong garage. Upon leaving, I was told, a seven dollar fee, check or cash. All I carry is plastic. I had to run out and find an ATM machine.

Upon leaving, a cop sensed by confusion - so on goes the lights and the challenge of finding a place to pull over. " Can't you drive," he demanded.

Sure I can drive in West Virginia - my plan is to take this FiretrUCKING vehicle to back to the rental place and my is going to pick me up. He muttered about the FiretrUCKING Out-Of-Staters but I didn't get a ticket. The GPS on the Cell Phone DID send me several miles in the wrong direction.

ICE is sweeping El Monte in Los Angeles County this morning. Coverage on MSNBC.

Douglas My comment also went viral in a massive retweet in El Monte. Cool.

My Response If this is true, El Monte Residents would bode well to stay off the roads. I doubt if the city has the salt trucks to deal with it and even if they do, the natives don't know how to drive in that stuff.

Douglas ICE: Immigration and Customs Enforcement. That's all right; I didn't know the acronym either until they became more noticeable in this area.

Genealogy-MyGrandfather'sTERRIBLE Journey

Quite often when I do Genealogy Research - I can feel my ancestors tapping on my shoulder and whispering in my ear - to find their story and get it told.

I had only met my maternal Grandfather briefly. A summer in San Francisco while listening to my Grandmother and Great Grandmother bash him My research has revealed what a difficult beginning my maternal Grandfather lived.

I feel compassion and understanding for the man. I can look at my own family's history and see how it has repeated itself. I grew up in a household where there was emotional and physical abuse. My brother reacted and ran away from the abuse resulting with him being in Juvenile Hall and eventually to McKinley Home for Boys for the remainder of his childhood and teenage years. He said that he was better off there.

I suspect that my Grandfather went through a similar scenerio. I found his records from San Quentin Prison. This was the story that I heard. That he was a criminal. When I knew him, he was law-abiding. Last week, I found a 1930 Census in addition to additional prison records.

The 1930's Census was for residents at the Preston School of Industry. This was a reform school for boys. My grandfather had entered this place when he was 15 to be trained as an electrician. He aged out and spent an additional two years in San Quentin Prison.

His crime at the age of 15 was Forgery. So my grandfather spent seven years in prison for a non-violent crime that he committed as a young .

My research had revealed horror stories about the Preston School of Industry. Prison Employees often used the boys for sadistic and sexual purposes. Ironically - the reform school was built for the purpose of creating a more humane situation for who were went to prison with the adult inmates.

My Grandfather walked through hell and Thank God - he made it to the other side.

So why am I in Washington D.C. lobbying on Prison Reform and Solutions to the Drug Problems in West Virginia and Beyond. I am doing it for you. Granddaddy.

The Dali Lama says go someplace that you have never been at least once a year. Last year I took the train to Washington DC for the DAR Con·ti·nen·tal Congress. I decided to take the train a tad bit further to Baltimore after the Congress.

My late hubby has a cousin who is a very famous Catholic Cardinal. I decided to visit his mortal remains which reside in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary "America's First Cathedral."

I booked a room in a Hostel and did a gOOgle map search for the Cathedral. It was an absolute God Shot to find the Cathedral right across the street from the hostel.

My one regret is that Grumpy was not with me to share the experience. It is only after his crossing that I learned about taking the train and hostels. (A very inexpensive way to travel). I talked to him about it anyway when I was there.

Beltane Thyme was on the horizon and the Coven was looking for a male politician to utilize. They wanted to strip his down to his loincloths , slather jasmine oil all over his body, tie him to a tree stump and lap dance until all the sacred seeds yield to mother earth.

The Grand HARPY declared - This man must be a real prude - someone who obviously won't enjoy it. The fun in in the challenge.

Certainly not President Dufus, the Missis would pay top dollars to render him services that she didn't want to give him.

What about RANGER!!!!! New nothing sacred about that man.
His Virtue is safe with us.

Suddenly, the lights of Brilliance started Flashing all over the place and the Presidential March started playing.

Vice President Mike Pence!!!!

After a generous to Mrs. Pence's favorite charity - the Bowling Green Hags acquired the Vice President.

A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL

except by Ranger who had to spent all night with Dr. Ruth in a Hot Tub while she gave him instructions on Kama Sutra.

I am always exploring family histories. The common THREAD in my family is "Coming to the New World for RELIGIOUS FREEDOM. Most of my DAR ancestors migrated to St. Mary County, Maryland for the Freedom to practice Ca·thol·i·cism.

They fought in the American Revolution and received Land Grants for what is now Union County, Kentucky. Baptisms, Marriages, and Deaths can be found the records of the Sacred Heart Catholic Parish in Waverly, Kentucky.

There were generation after generation of Catholics until my grandmother and later my mother broke the mold. My Grandmother and Mother remained Catholics but "unchurched"

I have explored many different religions and always played an active part in all of them. I assisted the Nazarene Sunday School Teacher as she taught Special Needs Students. I was in High School. I became an alcoholic and went crawling back into Church for help. This time it was a Baptist Church.

This brings me to my Seventh Great Uncle - Reverend John Waller - He was imprisoned and worse because it was unlawful to practice any religion but the Church of England. He preached to the troops during the Revolution War and established the first Baptist Church in the United States. Waller Baptist Church is still operating in Spotsylvania Virginia.

Eventually, I needed more help than the Baptists could give and ended up in the Twelve Step Community. The only help for the Alcoholic is GOD!!! The 12 Step Journey is all about finding a working relationship with GOD!!!!

12 Step Training is the foundation of any religion that I might practice. So currently, I am a Quaker. My seventh Great Grandparents were the Smalls. They were booted out of Salem, Mas·sa·chu·setts. They relocated to Spotsylvania, Virginia. Mary Smaller married John KW Waller. The Smalls did establish a Quaker Community in Louisa County, Virginia which still operates today.

Mary Dyer was killed by the Puritans for being a Quaker. My ancestors decided to walk away instead of fighting and ultimately won regardless..

We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may. The Wentworth Letter by Joseph Smith
