Ah Youth   12/26/2017

A couple of us local retired types from the Senior Center were asked to address a high school gathering put on by the PTA. As luck would have it, I was the only speaker to show up, so I had the stage to myself. I talked about staying in school, getting good grades and all that usual bullshit; and since I had plenty of time because those other guys didn't show, I threw it open for questions. ...

I was prescribed the drug Vioxx in 2001, I took it according to the doctor, but it caused nausea and "my chest hurt", I thought it was "cramps".I stopped taking the medicine, because it caused more problems than it solved. Now, the doctor that prescribed it, from 2001, is sending me letters to bring medicine back to him, and precsription old bottles, and I quote, " he will see that I get my ...

Who Pays... my opinion.... LOL   7/16/2004

In response to who pays.. I feel that the invitor should pay for the invitee.. Or, if agreed upon, should be dutch. So, , girlfriends.. if you invite him out.. you should be willing to pay the tab.. unless of course he offers to take care of it.. then I guess it would be gracious to accept.. <br> Men have responsibilities that we have no idea of, just because they make ...

Lost in Love   6/28/2004

? See the wolf? Just below the ridge there, off to the right of the third dark tree behind the White tree. She is searching for you. She is looking for her heart. She is lost, afraid, lonely, heart broken. She has come to distrust all, all people, herself, her needs, her desires, her hopes, her dreams, her beliefs. Sad, isn’t it? A lone She Wolf, one who has lost her pride, ...

How can Grandparents get "rights"??   4/14/2004

Recently my oldest son "informed" me that his marriage of 18 years is "over".Seems his "wife" found another man she wants, "from the internet".Well, since he is a "long-distance-truck-driver" and was gone 10 days, she proceeded to take everything, bank accounts, furniture, cars, clothes, etc. and had "new" love to help her "get what she deserved" everything of value from her "marriage", ...

Response To Timeforfun999--Matronly Doesn`t "Cut-it".   4/11/2004

Did you give it much thought, before you put the article, "matronly doesn`t cut-it", into the advice site?? How would you feel if your mother, sister, aunt, or even daughter were asked to post photos with breasts, long-legs, high-heeled-bedroom shots, and "in general" show parts that would "give the wrong impression?? Do you really condon women that are willing to "expose" body parts, just ...

A word of warning to those like me that hate medicine.   4/7/2004

I`m the type of person that won`t "go to the doctor", until they have to haul me in.That`s why having the serious car wreck in 1986 effected me so much.OK, I go each year for the "physical", hate those "stupid stirrups", but know it is necessary, and do the "whole-nine-yards", including mammogram.I won`t take medicine unless it is a "have-to" situation.I`ve been told repeatedly to take ...

How can you "keep" your female friends, when they consider you a threat, after you become a widow??   3/30/2004

I have noticed women that I truly considered close friends are suddenly "giving the cold-shoulder" after I became a widow.Just because my husband has died, that is no reason for anyone to think that I`m "on-the-prowl", I still have the same principals and morals I had when my husband was alive, and it grieves me to think that friendship is so "shallow" that women don`t trust their men to ...
