I'm a laid-back kind of guy, easy-going, enjoying retirement, but staying active socially and in community service. I'm honest, trustworthy, non-judgmental and open-minded. Politically, I'm a centrist, with a tilt to the left. I love music and making music (I play piano and organ, but not professionally.) I also enjoy the outdoors, hiking or just walking and savoring nature's beauty. Good books are a pleasure, as is spending time with good friends and family.
My Ideal Person
I’m looking for on-going friendship with someone who is independent, well educated and self-assured. Personality traits that I value include honesty, compassion, open-mindedness, being non-judgmental, and having a positive outlook on life with all its ups and downs.
I realize that building friendships takes time, and that’s fine. I always enjoy getting to know people; I learn a lot about myself in the process. I’ve been widowed now for about 5 years, after 50+ years with my late wife. Getting back into the dating scene has been very interesting and a lot of fun so far. At this point in my life, however, I’m not looking for a new deeply romantic, committed relationship. I don’t plan to remarry, and I don’t want to mislead anyone about that. Friendship and companionship for travel and other activities is what I hope to find.
