On Friday, March 12, the Texas Board of Education approved a revised curriculum that cuts Thomas Jefferson from a list of figures whose writings do not support the Conservative Christian Agenda. per Google Research

And the day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerve in the brain of Jupiter. But may we hope that the dawn of reason and freedom of thought in these United States will do away with this artificial scaffolding, and restore to us the primitive and genuine doctrines of this most venerated reformer of human errors. Thomas Jefferson, Letter to John Adams, April 11, 1823

I DO suppose this kind of quote would tick off Cotton Mather who was the Colonial Era Pat Robinson.

These are guys who would cheerfully abolish the THE STATUTE OF VIRGINIA FOR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM which was written by Thomas Jefferson.

His personal position wes religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, versus the dictates of a Preacher who may have power control issues.

But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg. -Thomas Jefferson, Notes on Virginia, 1782

So Yesterday, I was at Monticello. There is an film presented to the tourist with an presentation of Thomas Jefferson with Barrack Obama giving a brief speech. Some of the tourist have expressed displeasure at seeing Obama in the film and suggested that we write a letter to the Governor to boot him out of the film. Perhaps the Tourists want a return to Jim Crow Laws.

Would you go to Monticello even if Obama was there?

This is the Slave Graveyard at Monticello. There is very little evidence that it was once a graveyard other that a few boulders that were used as head and foot stones.

I am used to dating Bikers and Rednecks not Princeton Educated Lawyers. Nevertheless, we connected at the Fishing Place AND he was willing to drive to Charlottesville.

We've had some interesting phone conversations - politics, religion, philosophy, interesting court cases, ad infitum.

We met at Monticello and drove to Ashlawn Highland. James Monroe's Place. It only cost $9. to get him in because he's a Senior Citizen and I was free because I am a LOCAL.

What I found most interesting at Ashlawn was the picture of George Washington crossing the Delaware. Washington is standing on the boat with James Monroe clutching the American Flag while the crew is maneuvering through blocks of ice in the Delaware River. There was a black man in the crew.

It's totally inaccurate. James Monroe actually crossed the Delaware earlier than Washington. The American Flag didn't exist at the time and the Slaves were not part of the Military.

Also interesting was the fact that James Monroe brought Louisiana from Napoleon for more $$$$$$ than Jefferson would have approved but Jefferson took the credit after it turned out okay.

James Monroe was appointed United States Minister to France by President George Washington. His wife Elizabeth helped to secure the release of the release of Madame La Fayette wife of the Marquis de Lafayette when she learned of her imprisonment and threatened death by guillotine.

We left Ashlawn and headed back to Monticello. We opted to do the Trail versus the House Tour. One Tour a day is enough.

I showed the Ivy League Barrister where the Slave Graveyard was located and gave him a hot blazing kiss right in the graveyard. Earlier, I kidding ly told him that I like compromising male virtues in Graveyards. He was beginning to wonder if I was serious.

I have been on the trail many times, we walked all the way to Waldon Pond. The pond really doesn't have a name so I just call it Waldon Pond. It was a day of interesting and stimulating conversations.

It was a great day and a chance to get a photo of my favorite President, Thomas Jefferson.

The Neighbor with the Jane Crow Mind-Set

I own a house in West Virginia but because of the Job Market, it is not practical for me to live there. My younger is living there. He needs a roommate to make it work for him due to Financial Realities. So his High School Buddy who has custody of his young Nephew moved in.

So I got a phone message from my ex-husband who lives in Virginia with his female companion.

He reports that "Our neighbor says my plays loud music, drinks beer AND she objects to my 's BLACK housemate." (Actually he's bi-racial)

I called my who explained that "Yes they were playing loud music while his buddies were helping his friend and nephew move in." They played football in the backyard afterwards.

I told my ex to give the neighbor my phone number. Jane Crow might not like the message I give her.

Indeed, my likes a different kind of music. He's 24 and not into Reba. That's the nature of the age. I don't approve of his drinking, however he IS legally allowed to drink. She should hang around her own backyard because her biker boyfriend not only drinks beer but he also smokes left handed cigarettes. One day, I pray that Wal-Mart will be selling them and West Virginia will benefit from the Taxes on them.

Jim Crow Laws have been abolished so my 's friend and young nephew can live ANY Where that they wants to. I certainly would much rather have my 's long time friend living in my house than that shank my ex keeps company with.

On a much happier note, we now have a Bi-Racial President in Office. Jane Crow now has at least two Bi-Racial Neighbors. My is Cajun so he's technically bi-racial too. She needs to deal with it.

Charlottesville, Virginia usually averages 19 inches of snow a year. This year, C-Ville has been blessed with 50 plus inches of snow.

The Barrack Shopping Mall has big Mountains of Snow all over it's lot. One of the Mountains has been coined Mt. Chipotle with bets going on how soon it will melt.

It's raining this weekend so maybe Mt. Chipotle will float away along with the pending flood.

Happy Happy Joy Joy. It's almost Spring. Yea Ha!!!!

The Challenges of Being a Physically Fit Senior

I remember walking downtown with a Neighbor who commented that her doctor advised her to walk or she wouldn't be able to. She had difficulties walking any distance. I felt very fortunate because I loved the West Virginia Hiking Trails. We had just celebrated her 55th Birthday and within a year, she died. She was a smoker who didn't exercise.

I have lost several members of my family because of obesity. My Father died at the age of 57. My Paternal Grandmother dies at the age of 59. My beloved Maternal Step Granddaddy died at the age of 53. Obesity and Old Age do not go hand in hand.

When I left West Virginia for Texas in 2006 - One of the first things the Texas Trucker said was "You weigh 30 Pounds more that I thought you did!" He also didn't like the fact that I was taller than him.

I didn't find the Great Love Connection in Texas but I did discover the Great Work Connection that somehow eluded me in West Virginia.

I went to work for Wal-Mart and lost the 30 pounds. It can be like going to the Gym and getting paid for it. I worked for Wal-mart in Forney, Texas, Farren,Nevada and Covington, Virginia before transferring to Sam's Club in Charlottesville, Virginia. I've been a baker, a meat department associate, a cashier and now I am a Produce Merchandiser.

It was amazing how just losing a few pounds can alleviate alot of health challenges.

So during the Holidays, the weight started sneaking back on. That's it, I thought to myself. My azzzzzzzzzz is going to the Gym. What a Great Move that has turned out to be.

My energy level has gone up and the lifting at work is much easier.

Personally, I am more interested in being Healthy than I am in becoming a politically correct size 2. My philosophy is that if I make mostly Healthy Choices, my body will be what it is suppose to be AND I would much rather be a well toned size 14 Hourglass than a Size 5 dumpling shaped sting bean.

Weight Training is good for preventing Osteoporosis and the Cardio Work-Outs keep the Ticker going good.

and if I don't find Love........... Oh Well!!!!!!

at least I am having a great time at the Gym.

I just got Moonstone Beach and the Pacific Ocean Back. It was sitting in Arkasas for a few years.

My Best Friend in California sent me a box of the Pacific Ocean when I lived in Landlocked West Virginia. I would open the box and caress the stones. I would imagine of sound of the waves and the sea gulls.

I took a plane back to California in 2000 to attend a Goddess Festival. Sue and I drove North and South of the California Coast - stopping at Thrift Shops, Books Stores, Vineyards and the Missions along the way. We would light candles to all the Lady Saints at the Missions.

We stopped at the Beaches including Moonstone Beach. It was such a soothing feeling just to lay among the pebbles and feel the energy.

2006 was the start of a journey from Texas to Nevada to Arkansas and finally back to West Virginia. I landed over the boarder in Virginia. I left my property in Arkansas.

I had a computer that has since been replaced. The old computer was sent to my Older in Georgia who needs it for his College.

Nevertheless, I got my Beach from the Pacific Coast Back.

Thoughts abut Banning and Annoying People

I deal with them everyday at work. I simply remain professional and polite and keep my focus on business.

What I really find annoying is Vegetable Groping Customers. Yesterday, I noticed a customer sampling the grapes. I just politely smile at him and asked him if it was a good grape.

Now if he hides those grapes under his overcoat, I might advise someone in management about it.

It is not my job to confront or correct this behavior. Let management do it. They get paid for it. I would end up losing my job for it.

Now about SFF! Indeed there are many different folks with many different issues and some of them are annoying. What I don't understand is how someone can be in a chat room crying harassment when it simple to utilize the iggie button.

There are some folks who seem to actually get their jollifications getting others banned.

"Yeah Baby! Yeah Baby Yeah! Another One banned! Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh! Ohhhhhhhhhhh! Don't Stop, There's another one!"

I remember getting irritated when a member would come into my blogs and make negative remarks about my 12 Step Connection. It was annoying when I was declared disrespectful toward the islamic religion for calling Monticello a Mecca.

The block button took care of that situation quite nicely. Eventually, I removed her from the block list. It is far more effective to block or ignore annoying behavior than to get them banned so that they can come back with another profile and continue the same behavior.

Another member remarked in his own blog that Thomas Jefferson had questionable moral character because he slept with Sally Hemings. Oh Well! What would Thomas Jefferson do. He didn't dignify it with a response. Let the chosen frozen ones rant. He was having more fun than they were.

That member has a constitutional right to be as I am and I have a constitutional right to be wrong as he is. LOL!

I am too busy to worry about getting anyone banned today. I have a life. Woo Hoo! It's a nice day, the snow is melting, I have three days off. I am going to the Gym for a Tai Chi Class and I have a dinner date with Mr. Cancer with an Aquarius Moon tonight.

“. . .I wanted to be beautiful
Make him stand in awe
Look inside my heart,
and be amazed
I wanted to hear him say
Who I am is quite enough
Just want to be worthy of his love
And beautiful . . .”
